Job Summary

Role And Responsibilities:

Development Management:

  • Own everything related to reporting from a developmentleadership position.
  • Have a "builder" mentality with respect to products and people and take pride in demonstrating passion towards customer success.
  • Demonstrate pragmatic solutions surrounding constant innovation to ensure the resolution of complex challenges.
  • Evaluate the organization structure and team composition periodically and make recommendations to adjust to the growing demands of the business as needed.
  • Work with the product management understanding the upcoming features and influencing the release to have a cohesive high-value product release.
  • Run the release process in the Agile Scrum model.
  • Work with product management and the scrum master to ensure we have a healthy backlog groomed for the upcoming sprints.
  • Use JIRA as a tool to manage the work breakdown for features and defects.
  • Document technical design for new features and facilitate reviews with the Engineering architecture team to get approval for implementation.
  • Work with the teams to estimate the story points for work being taken in a sprint and ensure the estimates across several iterations are factored in to arrive at a consistent velocity.
  • Inspect the release for quality during the development cycle and ensure the team adapts to effect improvements to deliver high-quality software.
  • Monitor burndown and burnup data and velocity metrics to effect corrective actions to enable the promised completion.
  • Work with the QA Manager to ensure escape metrics and defect metrics are being reviewed and action is taken to reduce high severity defects post-go-live.
  • Work with the scrum master to facilitate retrospectives for sprints and a release and have an effective feedback cycle into the sprint planning and execution.
  • Set performance metrics working with PM to ensure we build high-performance software.
  • Collaborate with the Services project manager to understand custom reports in development for customers and ensure delivery of those understanding any framework enhancements needed ahead of time.
  • Own the technical debt for the core assets in the reporting framework and ensure that is being fed back into the backlog at the appropriate times.
  • Own the overall delivery of the software release for both timelines and quality.
  • Report factual progress metrics to the Engineering leadership.

People Management

  • Be a true humble leader that demonstrates the walk and inspires the team to keep exceeding expectations by empowerment.
  • Plan hiring needs, manage the capacity, and plan based on feedback from US leadership through India HR and India GM.
  • Oversee hiring, coaching, mentoring, training teams at India office through India HR and other resources
  • Execute the performance management, coach and engage the teams to keep employees motivated
  • Ensure world-class standards in our people, products, processes, and partnerships are implemented throughout the team
  • Ensure team s adherence to HR policies and work with HR where required
  • Identify human capital performance issues, analyze the issues and resolve the issue with an effective solution

Skills:

  • An experienced engineer developing code in Python/Java for at least 7+years understanding best practices in software development including code versioning, branching, and CI-CD principles.
  • 5+ years experience in architecting complex reporting and analytics systems and informed perspectives on architecture, testing, and development processes.
  • 5+ years practical experience implementing data warehouse solution including a deep understanding of all tiers of the solution including database, star schema design, ETL jobs & scheduling for data flow from the transactional database to the data warehouse and any Reporting UI tool like Tableau, Cognos, BO or others.
  • Tableau experience is a plus
  • 5+ years of practical experience working with Cloud Infrastructure like AWS, Azure, or GCP and understanding cloud services and deployment strategies.
  • Hands-on experience using Jenkins or Bamboo or Travis CI or AWS CodeBuild or AzureDevops
  • Understanding performance bottlenecks and having hands-on experience analyzing optimizing and resolving such issues at the different architectural layers of the system.
  • Previous experience with cloud databases like Amazon Redshift, Snowflakea plus
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Must be a team player and should be able to work with diverse teams locally and globally
  • Thorough knowledge of policies and procedures for running companies at India
  • Excellent written and communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and leadership abilities

Experience:

  • A leader with 10+ years of experience in the software development field
  • Should have 5+ years of managing software operations as department head
  • Should have program management experience

Education:

  • Bachelor of Engineering in computer science/Software engineering or other similar equivalent disciplines in management or equivalent
  • Master s in business management in MIS or IT will be a plus
