We work closely with Product Line Management (PLM), hardware and software architects, sales teams, and customer account teams to innovate and develop network deployment strategies for a broad range of networking products and software solutions. As part of this team, you'll have the opportunity to validate, demonstrate, and influence new technologies that will shape the future of optical, routing, fiber broadband, and wireless networks.

Your Role:

As a Lead Engineer, your responsibilities will include:

  • Collaborating with Tejas Level-1 Support and Field Engineering (Level-2 support) teams to assist with reported issues.
  • Debugging and analyzing issues, and, if necessary, reproducing field issues in the Tejas lab using customer databases. You'll also work closely with the Product Verification (PV) and Research and Development (R&D) teams for further analysis.
  • Tracking field bugs and enhancements in coordination with Product Line Managers (PLM).
  • Mentoring and transferring knowledge to other members of the Technical Assistance Center (TAC) team.
  • Raising and following up on issues with the design team after performing adequate debugging and analysis.
  • Documenting troubleshooting steps and conducting regular training sessions for field teams.
  • Providing guidance, promoting teamwork, and prioritizing your work in alignment with team objectives.
  • Ensuring that response and resolution timelines for field issues meet the Service Level Agreement (SLA) commitments to customers.
  • Participating in field scenario test cases with the PV team.

Mandatory Skills:

  • Hands-on experience with MPLS/MPLS-TP network design, implementation, and troubleshooting.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex network issues.
  • In-depth knowledge of MPLS/MPLS-TP protocols, including LDP (Label Distribution Protocol), RSVP-TE (Resource Reservation Protocol Traffic Engineering), and LSP (Label-Switched Path) management, as well as PHP, LSP Merge, and ECMP.
  • Experience in handling and troubleshooting issues in IP and Packet Transport Networks (PTN).
  • Excellent communication and customer-handling skills.
  • Proficiency in Layer 2/2.5/Layer 3 standards, protocols, and technologies (e.g., .1Q, QinQ, xSTP, ERPS, SATOP/CEM, MPLS-TP, OSPF, BGP, VRRP, RSVP, IP-MPLS, DHCP, QoS, IGMP, VRF, ACL).
  • Ability to efficiently debug, analyze, categorize, and troubleshoot telco issues.
  • Proficiency with Linux.

Desired Skills:

  • Familiarity with networking concepts such as BGP, OSPF, IS-IS, VLAN, and QoS.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a team-oriented and self-motivated attitude.
  • A passion for excellence in processes, product quality, and reliability.
  • Relevant certifications such as CCNP (Cisco Certified Network Professional) or JNCIP (Juniper Networks Certified Internet Professional) are a plus.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience: 6+ years in the telecommunications or networking industry.
  • Education: Tech/BE (CSE/ECE/EEE/IS) or any equivalent degree.
  • Strong Python coding skills.
