Responsibilities

  • To lead new product development of rail equipment projects according to the requirements of the applicable functional safety standard as per international rail industry requirements
  • To provide technical solutions for rail domain projects, mentor and provide training to the technical team
  • To discuss, coordinate with customers and define technical requirement speciation and acceptance criteria
  • Development of project execution plan and identify competencies required to execute the project
  • Provide required technical trainings to the team and bridge the competency gap
  • Ensure team members have appropriate function-specific training
  • Participate in the technical review meeting with customer
  • Ensure all project deliverables are executed per the requirements of design control procedure and adhere to the agreed upon timelines

Required Skills

  • A Bachelors degree with 12-15 years of experience or a Masters degree with 10-12 years of experience in rail industry
  • Hands on experience in developing systems and subsystems for railway maintenance equipment, locomotive, bogie and wagon
  • Good understanding about global standards followed in rail industries
  • Good experience in project management
  • Good experience in Autodesk Inventor and Vault PDM system
  • Strong communication skills oral, written and presentation
  • Strong personal and professional ethical values and integrity
  • Holds self-accountable to achieving goals and standards
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs like Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
  • Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills to work effectively with all levels of the organization including suppliers and external customers
