ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking an ambitious senior UX Designer to join our Honeywell Connected Enterprise (HCE) UX leadership team and lead a global team team of UX researchers, designers and content strategists for our Connected Industrials software business.

Our team is nimble and agile with limited hierarchy and lots of ownership. We're looking for someone who is driven to deliver true customer value, passionate about creating a customer experience and competent at architecting new enterprise platforms.

As UX Design Supervisor /Leader, you will set the design direction for Connected Industrials software globally and contribute directly to creating the next generation of user experiences on a wide variety of applications. You will collaborate with business partners on developing needs-based segmentation, personas, leading to brand strategies, product roadmaps, and offerings. You will be the voice of design in strategic business and annual operating planning, as well as serve as the functional decision maker for UX throughout project development.

Additionally, as part of the HCE UX team, you will work with other designers in design studios around the globe. Our UX Design organization delivers an end-to-end user experience across every customer touch point. We use well established human-centered design principles to ensure that Honeywell offerings and services are the most useful, usable, and desirable products in the marketplace.

What You Will Be Responsible for:

Leading the direction, vision and execution of UX design globally across HCE Connected Industrials.

Working closely with the Sr. UX Design Director of HCE to implement a design strategy for Connected Industrials that aligns with corporate objectives.

Collaborating with business and technology leadership teams to incorporate UX in strategic and annual operating plans

Providing a clear, consistent perspective on contemporary experience design practices in our scaled agile software development process

Participating as the functional decision maker for UX Design within all aspects of the product development process

Implementing and executing our Honeywell Design Language System, ie, brand identity, that differentiates Honeywell in the marketplace

Contributing to HCE UX Design best practices throughout the product development process

Collaborating with HCE UX Design studio leaders and teams to promote an esprit de corps for a growing world-class design organization

In this leadership position, you will be able to influence teams, both on site and distributed globally. As a top candidate, you have the ability to drive design consensus and strategy across the HCE Connected Aerospace business.

YOU MUST HAVE

Bachelors or masters degree in a design-related degree

10+ years of experience in experience design and product development

5+ years of leadership experience

Graduate degree interaction design, user experience design, software product development, or related discipline

Outstanding design portfolio of concepts and commercialized offerings

Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills

Excellent collaboration and teamwork attitude

Fluent with interaction design, information architecture and workflow analysis

Fluent with Agile software development methods and tools

Competent with interaction design and prototyping tools

Familiarity with enterprise-level IoT ecosystems

Strong portfolio of applying user-centered design practices in the development of software applications

Demonstrated leadership experience working with business and technology leaders to set strategic and annual operating plans

Demonstrated leadership experience leading, developing, and managing experience designers on software applications

Experience in understanding and synthesizing user needs using a variety of design research methods

Experience in researching design trends and interpreting them in brand and product planning

Experience in evaluating solutions using: design trends, heuristic reviews, competitive benchmarking, formative, and summative usability studies

Demonstrable talent creating industry-leading digital designs and implementing across multiple platforms (Cloud, Web, mobile, apps) and complex ecosystems

Experience creating low-fidelity to high-fidelity appearance models and prototypes

Experience directing and managing external design firms and process partners.

International experience working with regional businesses and distributed design teams
