Job Summary
Technical skills and competencies
Must-Have
- Experience with PostgreSQL / MySQL / Oracle RDBMS / MS SQL
Server. - Interest in learning different database technologies and mastering
them. - Experience with or working knowledge of database migrations
between different databases. - Hands-on experience on the responsibilities mentioned above
- SQL Tuning Identifying and tuning problematic SQL
- Tuning production database configuration parameters for better
performance and security.
Good to have
- Experience with PostgreSQL extensions and tools such as
pg_repack and PgBouncer. - Experience with Storage provisioning such as adding, removing and
extending volumes. - Linux Tuning Identifying I/O bottlenecks and CPU consumption.
- Linux shell scripting experience (preferably bash)
- Experience working with cloud providers such as AWS and Azure
and their appropriate tools. - Experience with monitoring solutions such as Nagios or
Prometheus - Basic knowledge of Python, Perl, and/or Ruby
- Experience with configuration management tool such as Chef,
Ansible, or Puppet.
.Responsibilities :
- Candidate must have experience with providing support on
PostgreSQL preferably on Ubuntu/Debian Linux or Windows. - Responsible for Handling trouble tickets and on-call requests
(find and clear locks, run SQL for developers, etc). - General database maintenance, patching, and upgrading.
- Assist with automating the DB provisioning process
