Associate Dba - Postgresql Job in Xento Systems

What We Have In Store For You:

• Ability to independently monitor and administrator databases.
• Creation & managing PostgreSQL schema, tables, tablespaces and users, roles & groups.
• Performance tuning, Query tuning by generating and explaining the plan for SQL queries.
• Expert in DBA functions like managing databases, backups & restore, scheduling jobs, space, performance management, principles of database replication, scalability, and high availability.
• Expert in Backup & Recovery including Pg dump, setting up WAL archiving, Point in time recovery.
• Monitoring Alert Log, scheduled jobs, and troubleshooting database problems.
• Understanding of basic database fundamentals: multi-version control, concurrency, transactions, indexing, locking.
• Analyze, recommend, and implement configuration for Optimized Performance.
• Ability to plan hardware capacity requirements for storage, memory, and CPU Cycles.
• Expert with setting and troubleshoot replication.
• Ability to configure and troubleshoot, log shipping, cascading standbys, partial replication, continuous recovery, detach, and reattach slaves.
• Understanding of UNIX environment with shell scripting.

You Fit The Bill If:

• 1-3 years of relevant Postgre DBA experience.
• Ability to work in Night (24*7) shifts.
• Working knowledge of PostgreSQL in production support.
• Should have Good knowledge on Replication, Production Backup scripts, Connection Pooling.
• Scripting knowledge (shell/Perl)
• Provide support to development teams in database related queries, Script execution, writing queries, optimization.
• Educational Qualification: B.E /B. Tech.
• Ability to identify defects in the environment and proactively intervene to reduce downtime.
• Hands-on maintenance activities such as vacuum, full vacuum, analyze the database.
• Server configuration and client authentication.
• In-depth knowledge of Database Security.
• Data Replication - Streaming replication.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Good To Have:

• Knowledge of Postgres Benchmarking which included (Ext3, BTRFS, XFS, Free BSD with ZFS, Free BSD with UFS)
• SQL language: - DDL and DML, Queries, Multi-version Concurrency Control (MVCC).
