The Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivatedApplication Engineerto join our eCOM team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in e-commerce, data analysis, and focusing on troubleshooting eCOM transaction-related issues. The Application Engineer will be responsible for analyzing e-commerce data, identifying trends, and providing insights to help drive strategic decision-making and improve overall business performance.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Requirement management: collect, review, validate, analyze, specify and document customer and internal requirements;
  • Define high-level and detailed functional designs allowing developers to build and deliver quality code. This includes supporting projects from beginning to end as functional and application specialists for the solutions.
  • Focus on troubleshooting eCOM transaction-related issues
  • Ensure the E2E integrity of the software of our authorization systems, validate quality of software delivered by various teams
  • Work closely with product management, software architecture and management in order to create a product that fits the company portfolio
  • Develop scope and define backlog items (epics/features/user stories) that guide the Agile software development team.
  • Support the Agile team with the story estimates and sequencing
  • Build and maintain the team backlog, including the user stories, enablers and defects
  • Define and validate acceptance criteria (based on Definition of Ready & Definition of Done) and evaluate the Sprint result based on that
  • Participate in team demo and retrospective
  • Assure conceptual and technical integrity of the Product Features is kept at all time
  • Keep an overview on common product related activities. Link different topics and detect dependencies to work on solutions to resolve these with the corresponding teams
  • Acquire and maintain a solid knowledge of the technologies used for our product development

Who Are We Looking For

  • 3+ overall work experience as an Application Engineer in IT services and software development, with the majority of it being in the area of electronic payments
  • University degree (master/bachelor) in computer science or similar qualification
  • High level of Quality paired with Service Oriented Mindset
  • Linux knowledge as User, .Net and Java reading capabilities for Analysis purposes and SQL reading and writing capabilities combined with basis shell scripting capabilities
  • Structured and analytical way of working and distinct ability to do presentations
  • Strong team player able to listen and communicate at eye level with all stakeholders and team members
  • Ability to work with cross-functional teams to deliver on a common goal.
  • Ability to work in dynamic situations with short timelines and strict deadlines
  • Good experience in Agile/Scrum in a complex and international environment
  • Knowledge about payment domain and/or Continuous Integration & Continuous Deployment would be beneficial
  • Knowledge of the schema protocol Visa Mastercard Iso 8583 would be an advantage
