Roles and Responsibilities: As a Tele Counsellor, you will play a critical role in providing information, guidance, and support to individuals seeking counselling services over the phone. Your primary tasks and responsibilities will include: Counselling Sessions: Conduct telephonic counselling sessions with individuals seeking assistance, providing emotional support, guidance, and advice. Assessment: Listen actively and empathetically to clients' concerns, understanding their needs, challenges, and goals. Information Sharing: Provide accurate and relevant information about available counselling services, programs, and resources. Goal Setting: Collaborate with clients to set achievable goals and develop action plans to address their challenges and concerns. Supportive Communication: Use effective communication techniques to build rapport, trust, and a supportive relationship with clients. Confidentiality: Maintain strict confidentiality and ethical standards in handling clients' personal and sensitive information. Record Keeping: Document and maintain accurate records of client interactions, progress, and recommended interventions. Referrals: Identify cases requiring specialised services and make appropriate referrals to experts or resources. Feedback and Improvement: Seek feedback from clients, analyse outcomes, and continuously improve counselling techniques. Primary Skills: Empathy: Ability to understand and empathise with clients' emotions and challenges to provide meaningful support. Active Listening: Skill in actively listening to clients, understanding their concerns, and asking relevant follow-up questions. Communication: Strong verbal communication skills to convey information, advice, and emotional support effectively. Problem-Solving: Capacity to analyse situations, identify problems, and collaboratively develop solutions with clients. Interpersonal Skills: Ability to build rapport, establish trust, and maintain a positive and supportive relationship with clients. Confidentiality: Commitment to maintaining strict confidentiality and ethical standards in handling clients' personal information. Time Management: Effective time management skills to allocate sufficient time to each counselling session and maintain a structured schedule. Cultural Sensitivity: Awareness and respect for diverse cultural backgrounds, ensuring appropriate communication and understanding.
