We work closely with Product Line Management (PLM), hardware and software architects, sales teams, and customer account teams to innovate and develop network deployment strategies across a wide range of networking products and software solutions. As part of this team, you will have the opportunity to validate, demonstrate, and influence new technologies shaping the future of optical, routing, fiber broadband, and wireless networks.
Your Role:
As a Senior Engineer, you will interact with Tejas Level-1 Support and Field Engineering (Level-2 Support) teams to assist with reported issues. Your responsibilities will include:
- Debugging, analyzing, and, when necessary, reproducing field issues in the Tejas lab using customer databases.
- Collaborating with the Product Verification (PV) and Research and Development (R&D) teams for deeper analysis of the issues.
- Tracking field bugs and enhancements in coordination with Product Line Managers (PLM).
- Mentoring and transferring specific knowledge to other members of the Technical Assistance Center (TAC) team.
- Raising and following up on issues with the design team after thorough debugging and analysis.
- Documenting troubleshooting steps and conducting regular training sessions for field teams.
- Providing guidance, promoting teamwork, and prioritizing your work in alignment with team objectives.
- Ensuring timely responses and resolutions for field issues in accordance with committed Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
- Involvement in field scenario test cases with the PV team.
Mandatory Skills:
- Hands-on experience with MPLS/MPLS-TP network design, implementation, and troubleshooting.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for diagnosing and resolving complex network issues.
- In-depth knowledge of MPLS/MPLS-TP protocols, including LDP, RSVP-TE, and LSP management, as well as PHP, LSP Merge, and ECMP.
- Experience in handling and troubleshooting issues in IP and Packet Transport Networks (PTN).
- Strong communication and customer-handling skills.
- Familiarity with Layer 2, 2.5, and Layer 3 protocols and technologies (e.g., .1Q, QinQ, xSTP, ERPS, SATOP/CEM, MPLS-TP, OSPF, BGP, VRRP, RSVP, IP-MPLS, DHCP, QoS, IGMP, VRF, ACL).
- Ability to efficiently debug, analyze, categorize, and troubleshoot telco issues.
- Proficiency with Linux.
Desired Skills:
- Knowledge of networking concepts such as BGP, OSPF, IS-IS, VLAN, and QoS.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; a team player, self-learner, and individual contributor.
- A passion for process excellence, product quality, and reliability.
- Relevant certifications like CCNP (Cisco Certified Network Professional) or JNCIP (Juniper Networks Certified Internet Professional) are advantageous.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience: 3 to 6 years in the telecommunications or networking industry.
- Education: Tech/BE (CSE/ECE/EEE/IS) or any equivalent degree.
- Coding skills in Python.
