Job Purpose:

The incumbent will perform protein purification and characterization from various expression systems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Innovative and motivated professional with a proven track record in protein chemistry.
• The person is responsible for the technical support for downstream process.
• Will be responsible for day to day operational activities in the downstream platform.
• Should be well versed in the purification of monoclonal antibodies, recombinant proteins expressed using mammalian, microbial or Insect cell.
• execute day to day activities of downstream process like CIP for Slurry, CIP for AKTA.
• Actively involve in the statistical design, execution, analysis, and troubleshooting of purification process.
• Should have knowledge on QA related to the protein work.
• Strong communication and cross-department collaboration skills.
• Must have hands on experience on AKTA Explorer, AKTA prime and AKTA PURE instruments
• An additional knowledge on operation and analysis of HPLC / LCMS instrument and data would be appreciable.
• Follow environment, health, and safety (EHS) requirements at all times in the workplace ensuring individual and lab/plant safety.
• Attend training on environment, health, and safety (EHS) measures imparted company.

Educational Qualification:

Candidate with a MSc/MTech in Life sciences

Technical/functional Skills:

• Expertise in routine protein purification with affinity, size exclusion, ion exchange chromatography using AKTA FPLC systems (Unicorn software).
• Expertise in protein purification of antibodies, affinity-tagged, secreted proteins as well as "problematic" proteins (low expression, poor solubility, intra-cellular expression, prone to aggregation).
• Proficiency in protein extraction and solubilization methods, protein refolding and purification via affinity, hydrophobic interaction (HIC), ion exchange (IEX), size exclusion (SEC) and mixed-mode chromatography.
• Expertise in routine characterization of proteins including SDS-PAGE, SE-HPLC, and biophysical techniques.
• Familiarity with mammalian and microbial protein expression is a plus.

3-6 Post qualification
