The Role
The Senior Product Manager is responsible for the entire product lifecycle and commercial success of one or more of Sorocos more complex products. S/he will work with cross-functional teams in Boston and Bangalore to define the strategy and roadmap for a current or new product; sequence and evaluate development; and enable sales and usage of the product. The Senior Product Manager reports to the Director of Product:
Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
- Leading the ideation of a "customer-backwards" vision of a new or existing product by:
- Harnessing the customer voice through:
- Market research, including web searches and attending relevant conferences
- Discussions with product marketing regarding competitive intelligence
- Working with the business development team to understand customer challenges
- Connecting with customers directly through in-person or over-the-phone interactions
- Building consensus around the vision across a team of stakeholders, and translating the vision into user stories that enable efficient development
- Defining success criteria for the product (e.g. usage target, satisfaction points) and working with finance on budget estimates and revenue goals
- Harnessing the customer voice through:
- Driving the development of an elegant, vetted, market-ready product by:
- Leading sprint planning to ensure appropriate sequencing of user stories to drive impact quickly
- Defining the definition of "done" and any related metrics
- Joining daily scrum meetings to address any queries from developers and to ensure on-time and on-budget delivery of each release
- Launching a product and enabling sales and usage by:
- Working with product marketing to highlight critical features, and signing off on the accuracy and positioning of sales collateral
- Joining early client calls to ensure sales team is fully equipped to describe the product
- Monitoring success and usage criteria, and developing new user stories to drive product improvement
- Coaching or managing the activities of Product Managers by:
- Auditing their visioning sessions and reviewing their user stories
- Participating in their daily scrum sessions
- Signing off on their releases and test results
- Overseeing their go-to-market activities
- Reviewing their product's KPIs and strategies for improvement
The Candidate
As a Senior Product Manager, you will be responsible for establishing the vision and strategy of the products for the company, exhibiting strong leadership and analytical skills every step of the way.
Key Requirements and Qualifications:
- 8 - 10 years of progressive Product development experience
- 3 - 6 years of product management experience, preferably in RPA, automation and AI/ML based enterprise products, with an excellent record of accomplishment in delivering on time and on budget
- 1 - 3 years of experience managing other product managers OR being selected to manage highly - complex products
- Excellent "product thinker" skills with an appreciation for the "customer backwards" approach and the use of data to drive decisions
- Outstanding ability to delegate, prioritize, and manage a considerable workload, all while gaining respect and buy-in from cross-functional teams
- Excellent process-oriented thinker who wants to invest in systems that support scale and reduce redundancies
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, and a highly professional presence and phone manner with clients
- Scrum certification is a major plus
- BS/BA degree (or equivalent)
