Job Description The principle responsibilities essentially include: Work as project co-ordinator for solar projects, will be responsible for complete internal and external project co-ordination till project completion. Shall be able to do detailed designs of solar plants, switchyard and MV and HV system. Shall be able to handle complete engineering activities independently and support other discipline to expedite project progress. Shall have knowledge of power system equipment protection, shall be able to do relay setting calculations and co-ordination studies Shall have depth knowledge of MV and HV equipment selection and review of vendor drawing and documents. Design and engineering of DC & AC side electrical systems of small to large utility scale solar PV plants and rooftop solar projects. Ability to understand client requirement and provide optimized designs and solutions. Knowledge in DC & AC side engineering specifications and standards including IEC, NEC, IEEE, ANSI, SEC, IS etc. Develop of power and protection SLDs, PV array layouts, grouping etc. on design tools like AutoCAD, AutoCAD Electrical and Civil 3D. Preparing of Plant Layout GA drawings, PV Array Layout, DC Cable routine layouts, DC Grouping layout and all other Solar PV plant layouts. PV plant Earthing Calculation as per IEEE, BS, IS and other related standards: Earthing conductor sizing and earth mat design. Lightning risk assessment and lightning calculations for design for Solar PV plant as per IEC and IEEE guidelines. String Cable, Power Cable (DC and AC) sizing & calculation; Control Cable sizing, length Calculations and cable accessories selections, Design of cable trenches and underground raceways analysis. Able to understand and Validate Power Conversion Unit (PCS) or Solar PV inverter component Power / Control schematics, BOQ and Site accessories. Sizing Calculations for the protection Fuse, Connectors, SCB, SPD all DC components and Ability to select the DC Fuse, SCB, String / Central Inverters or PCS and all associated equipment s for solar PV plant as per IEC, IS, IEEE standards. Review & preparation of General Technical Parameters, Design Memorandum, check list preparation, Equipment sizing and configuration for the DC Component. Auxiliary Load calculation AC & DC and designing schematic diagram of auxiliary loads. Performing illumination sizing calculations, Ventilation calculations, Fire alarm system for the Buildings and open fields of Solar PV array. Design and engineering of all the aspects of inverter stations, MV transformer stations, MV Switching stations, Utility metering systems, transmission / evacuation lines etc. Good understanding of SCADA system as required for Solar PV systems; should be able to develop SCADA architecture. Shall be able to review and perform short circuit current calculation to finalize equipment short circuit ratings. Coordination with various disciplines like Civil structural engineering and infrastructure engineering, coordination with vendors and assessing various vendor drawings. Effective Project coordination via communication with internal teams. Regular update on Master deliverable list to maintain record of project progress. Correspondence record with client for ready reference required during design and review meetings. Customer communication, project progress tracking, interdisciplinary coordination. Attending meetings at customer/contractor offices/site, factory acceptance testing and commissioning support. Coordination of designs and review activities between Contractor/EPC, Design team and client office. Highlight any technical issues as they occur and advise on their actual or potential impacts. Should be able to guide the drafting team time to time and ensure the deliverable targets for the projects and shall also be open for the site visits in India and abroad during construction of structures for checking. Prepare and monitor schedules for deliverables, Knowledge of Microsoft projects and primavera will be an advantage. Attend project co-ordination meetings and liaise with site team, clients and EPC contractors. Check the designs and drawings. Provide technical support and guidance to junior staff. Follow the integrated management system (IMS) requirement set by the company. Requirements Essential Criteria: Candidate shall be preferably from Consultancy / EPC background with exposure on utility scale solar PV projects. Candidate shall be preferably to have Exposure to the on-site DC components erections works and commissioning of DC side of the Solar plant. Knowledge of AutoCAD, MS office is essential, PV Syst, Sketchup, Dialux tools will be advantageous. Willingness to travel and stay as per requirement in India and abroad. Candidate needs to comply with organizations HSE commitment.
