Job Summary Job Description: We are looking for a Design Engineer to join our team, specializing in the design and development of Electrical Wiring Harnesses for off-highway equipment. This role involves generating electrical component Value Analysis/Value Engineering (VAVE) ideas, creating 3D CAD models, 2D drawings, and schematics, as well as providing solutions for ongoing and new VAVE projects. The ideal candidate will have experience working with electrical components, wiring harness design, and off-highway or heavy industry machinery such as Telehandlers, Boom Lifts, and Excavators. Key Responsibilities: VAVE & Concept Generation: Generate innovative VAVE ideas for electrical components and contribute to the design and development of electrical wiring harnesses for off-highway equipment. 3D CAD & 2D Drawing Creation: Utilize CREO Electrical 7.0 or above to create 3D CAD models, 2D drawings, and schematic designs of wiring harnesses for electrical systems. Electrical Wiring Harness Design: Expertise in electrical wiring harness routing, packaging, and schematic design, ensuring proper integration and functionality within off-highway vehicles and equipment. Component Selection & Integration: Select appropriate components for wiring harnesses, including connectors, terminals, wires, covers, and brackets. Design and integrate these components effectively. System Integration: Apply knowledge of various manufacturing processes and system integration for electrical and electronic systems. Packaging & Routing: Expertise in packaging and routing electrical wiring harnesses, clamps, brackets, panels, seals, fuse boxes, and channels to ensure safety and functionality. Schematic Updates: Update electrical schematics for vehicle systems, including motor control centers and related components. Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams globally to ensure seamless project execution and integration of electrical systems. Post-Launch Support: Provide engineering support post-launch for system integration, quality issues, and cost reduction activities. DFM, DFA, DFS, DFMEA Knowledge: Incorporate Design for Manufacturing (DFM), Design for Assembly (DFA), Design for Service (DFS), and Design Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (DFMEA) principles in design processes. Domain Skills & Technical Competency: Electrical & Electronics: Strong background in electrical and electronics systems, particularly in off-highway equipment. IHM Electrical & Electronics: In-depth knowledge of the IHM (Integrated Human Machine) Electrical domain and its applications. Wiring Harness Expertise: Extensive experience in designing and routing wiring harnesses, including expertise in electrical circuit design and schematic layout. CREO Electrical & Schematic Design: Proficient in CREO Electrical 7.0 or above, with experience using CREO schematics workbenches for electrical design, flattening, and harness layout creation. Component Selection & Packaging: Experience in selecting electrical components such as connectors, terminals, and wires, and designing harness packaging and integration into systems. PDM Tools: Experience with TeamCenter and other Product Data Management (PDM) tools, along with proficiency in Windchill. Qualifications & Skills: Educational Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field. Experience: 4-8 years of experience in electrical design and wiring harness development, preferably in the off-highway or heavy equipment industry. Design Tools Expertise: Extensive experience using CREO Electrical 7.0, Windchill, and other design tools for electrical and electronics systems. Manufacturing & System Integration: In-depth knowledge of manufacturing processes, system integration, and electrical component design. Engineering Processes: Strong understanding of DFMEA, DFM, DFA, and DFS in product design. Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with teams across functions and levels of an organization. PC Literacy: Proficient in Microsoft Project, PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and other standard office applications. Benefits: Competitive salary and performance-based incentives.
