Designation: Lead Actuarial Analyst
Years of Experience: 6 to 8 yrs
Lead actuarial analyst is expected to work independently with the home office counterparts. The person is also expected to be an and SME on one or more technical areas and also to guide and mentor junior members in the team.
Key Responsibilities:
Being in a senior technical role, Lead Actuarial Analyst will trasition with work form Home Office. WIll be a significant contibutor to mentor and guide the team on technical aspects.
Ensuring timely and quality delivery, minimizing escalations, acting as a bridge between home office team and Pune team
Should Have in-depth of technical/functional knowledge in one or more actuarial domains like valuation, pricing, reserving, reporting and risk management
Should be able to guide and mentor nalysts in the team.
The person should be responsible for analyzing and translating business information and technical requirements into projects that can be handled and managed by the time in the most optimum timeframe with quality and timely delivery. The person should work with Senior actuarial analysts and consultants to produce delivery timeframe and path for projects. Make sure this aligns with the overall strategy and expectations of PGS and the home office.
Viewed as a technical expert and critical resource across multiple disciplines. Ability to adapt in a variety of business areas and actuarial domains and move easily from one to another like pricing, statutory reserving, modelling, monthly, quarterly and annual reporting functions
The candidate should resolve disputes and make tradeoffs
The candidate should complete and lead the team to complete actuarial tasks using organization standards toolsets
The person should plan for evolutionary paths and be innovative and hence explore automation opportunities. The candidate should identify risk mitigation strategies associated with the actuarial work
Bring Industry wide best practices and understand external technology trends. Should be able to relate those trends to the workplace
In case of Data focus, the person should be able to guide the team on use of tools like MS Access, VBA, R and SAS
The person should Assist in Planning for the project/program
The person should Identify and interact with the home office team and necessary Business stakeholders to make sure their needs and expectations are being met
The person should be a strong proponent of Actuarial practice and conducting roadshows (or other Sessions) to demonstrate it.
Process:
Comply with PGS / BU specific practices
Provide Support to Manager/Sr. Manager / Group Manager/ head of operations for estimation and risk identification. Mitigate technical, functional and people related risks
Technical mentorship
Build actuarial expertise.
Be an SME in one or more areas like valuation/pricing/reserving/risk management.
Lead Community actuarial analysts and senior analysts.
Contribute towards BU maturity in actuarial credentials and technical areas.
