Job Summary About the role:You will be responsible for managing sales and gross margin achievement, as well as inventory and vendor management for the categories under Staples at Grofers.
What you will do everyday:

P&L management:
- Manage the sales and margin for the category team (top line and bottom line)
- Drive pricing and promotions within the category
- Identify and build new initiatives to enhance margins for the category
Category insights:
- Own demand generation for the category on the mobile app
- Devise assortment planning and execution in line with promotional campaigns
- Own the roadmap for the category in alignment with relevant stakeholders
Category marketing:
- Craft and drive the sales strategy for the category on the platform
- Own branding, product assortment, promotion plans & pricing for the category
- Drive marketing team towards enhanced visibility of category/brands
- Surface information on competitive landscape
- Own category launch and other initiatives to drive the sales and customer retention for the category

EXPERTISE AND QUALIFICATIONSSkills you need to do the job:

3+ years of experience in category management - preferably within the e-commerce segment (retail/online/FMCG experience in managing Staples as a category)
High proficiency in working with MS Excel
Strong analytical skills (with proven track record of success in past assignments)
Result orientation with high degree of ownership
