Job Summary

Job Overview :

The People Partner will support the People Operations Manager - India in delivering an exceptional and professional people service to Contis employees across the region, while partnering with a Talent Acquisition Partner and joining a global HR team.

Supporting the entire HR life cycle; from involvement with recruitment, employment offers, referencing and onboarding to payroll management, resolving day to day HR related queries, employee relations matters, training & development and exit arrangements.

This role is varied, differing day to day based on the needs of our people, and so a willingness to flex and be available to resolve matters that arise is paramount. As too is a sense of urgency and pace in responding to people when a query arises, with the emphasis on follow up and completion.

The job holder will have access to confidential HR documentation and data and will apply a high level of discretion and professionalism to their work.

Responsibilities & Duties :

  • Recruitment and onboarding:
    Refining job descriptions in partnership with line managers and conducting research for salary benchmarking and title alignment.
    When volume is high, support Talent Acquisition Partner to launch open positions, screen, interview and manage the recruitment process to offer stage.
    Administer new starter and employment documentation, acting as first HR contact for candidates.
    Complete the referencing, right to work, audit and filing process for all new employment.
    Oversee and trigger all automation required within the HR software that ensures a seamless people experience from offer stage, signing in as a new employee to line manager prompts for probation reviews.
    Own and drive the onboarding process for new starters, supporting hiring managers with its delivery and ensuring every single new joiner at Contis starts well and is integrated into our teams warmly.
    Training & development:
    Support L&D initiatives by coordinating arrangements and facilities for training sessions, from location to refreshments, to diary invites for delegates and managing response rates.
    Maintaining internal TNA database for Contis employees, reviewing and refreshing as needs change.
    Researching external training options as and when required.
    Hold responsibility for local deployment of Performance Management Cycles and Goal Setting processes.
    Employee relations:
    Acting as first point of call for any HR-related matters and escalating to the People Ops Manager as appropriate. Drafting administration relating to case management, emailing and posting, and filing as required. Attending ER meetings in capacity as note taker. Building knowledge of Contis policies and procedures to answer any internal policy-related question confidently and swiftly to support our people.
    Advise, guide and coach line managers on their HR responsibilities, management behaviours and team management.
    HR Administration:
    Complete all HR administration required, including holding admin/Superuser rights to the HR system(s) in place.
    Calculating and administering employee holiday policy entitlements and uploading this to HRIS.
    Own and maintain organisational charts for India through HRIS and manually.
    Ensuring GDPR principles are applied and adhered to with all document retention in HR.
    Ownership for leave and attendance tracking and management.
    Managing time, absence and leave processes for the region.
    People experience:
    Contribute to idea generation for initiatives that support employee engagement and promote employee welfare activities, and support with coordinating and delivering these.
    Continually improve our rituals and processes to improve on the employee experience; automate repetitive processes and remove clunky bureaucracy.
    Support the organisation of events, collaborations, all-hands meetings and socials.
    Champion the Contis Culture by role modelling appropriate behaviours and encouraging good people practise.
    Other:
    Ensure compliance with data protection legislation, health and safety legislation and all employment legislation to minimise risk to staff, visitors, directors and the company.
    Deliver, interpret and analyse People data on a monthly basis to help inform decision making.
    Liaise with internal and external parties in a confident and professional manner.

Skills & Knowledge Required :

5+ years experience working in a HR department as HR Executive / Assistant / Officer, having covered a generalist range of HR topics from starters to leavers.
3+ years recruitment experience for hiring into tech positions
Working knowledge of modern HR tech and software platforms, and prior experience holding user admin rights.
Good understanding and knowledge of HR legislation in India.
Very strong emotional intelligence and empathy
Previous knowledge of using HR software to automate routine processes
Experience with actively participating in employee relations meetings and recruitment interviews
An excellent communicator, articulate and able to adapt style to others
A good eye for detail, and thorough in approach
Empathetic, objective and factual in outlook and approach towards People matters
Advanced skill levels in Microsoft Office Applications
Able to work as part of a team and on own initiative; driven and self-motivated in approach
Strong cross-cultural awareness
Able to work under pressure and within tight deadlines
Outstanding organisational skills, with a bias towards achieving results and delivery
