This is a R&D Project Manager role, reporting to the Manager Research & Development in business area Process Automation located in Bangalore. You will be working at Ability Innovation Center (AIC), home to the largest technology and engineering pool in ABB globally and is a part of ABB Global Industries and Services Private Limited, a subsidiary of ABB. It is based in Bangalore, the silicon-valley of India. Its unique infrastructure places research, development, engineering, and service teams under one roof, increasing collaboration and reducing time to market, with no compromise on quality.

Your responsibilities

• End to end responsibility for driving Global R&D projects/sub-project from the Concept stage till successful implementation and production.
• Project planning in order to meet the Project objectives, manage the outsourcing engagement with the partner organizations, be the SPOC.
• Identify the risks, what is on critical path and proactively mitigate the risks.
• Monitor and control the project progress, Cost and timeline using the defined KPIs to the management and steering committee.
• Identify and mitigate risks associated with the project including all necessary notifications to management and resolve problems.
• Interact with cross functional and distributed Global teams and steer the project to achieve the project vision and objectives.
• Work closely with R&D teams to resolve impediments and resolve cross team issues and dependencies. Handling of variety of situations involving Volatility, uncertainty, complexity and ambiguity.

Your background

• B.E/B.Tech in Computer Science or Electrical or Electronics from a reputed institution.
• Required 12 to 15 years of experience in IT or Industrial Automation industry with at least 3 years of experience in managing Global R&D projects.
• Exposure to modern development life cycle models like agile and lean.
• Knowledge of scaled agile framework and experience of working in agile environment.
• Professional project management accreditation or work experience.
• Should have excellent communication skills with assertiveness.
• Should have experience of working with cross functional, multicultural and global teams in a highly distributed team environment.
