Job Summary
Objectives of the Position
Lead EXIM Operations team for managing end to end clearance for BASF entities in India
Main Tasks
- Manage the import and export operations from the perspective of customer centricity and efficient operations through monitoring of key regional and country KPIs such as In-time Clearances, Feedback Rates, Documentation, etc
- Manage the shipping vendors to ensure import of Bulk Parcels of captive and merchandise goods. Ensure monitoring of shipping vendors based on Operational Vendor Management guidelines
- Drive Service Provider (3 PL) management for efficient and cost-effective operations.
- Monitor and optimize cost for import operations.
- Improve services of Business units and maintain same as per SLAs agreed and have quarterly service dialogue with business units
- Maintain good relations with the Port Authorities / carriers and represent BASF as and when required.
- Ensure Import/ Export Operations is managed smoothly, and possible actions put in place to ensure uninterrupted business continuity.
- Implement Regional Projects and Improvement initiatives in Import/ Export Operations.
- Development of guidelines, standard operations procedures for knowledge management & training
- Act as an emerging or knowledgeable contact in the areas of project management, supply chain optimization tools, approaches and methods.
- Implementation of risk mitigation plans and controls for the department
- Establishe/utilize tools to provide transparency to cost to serve and the optimization of the cost structures
- Liaison between service providers, Hub as single point of contact to manage exceptions and or escalations
- Steer and jointly review with operation teams for defining, monitor and analyze logistics service provider performance against target KPI's
- Evaluate infrastructure at various Ports and define operational modalities for High Seas Sale / In-Bond Sales / Merchandize Through business models
- Ensure import documents are tracked through SAP report and are getting downloaded well in advance before vessel arrival.
Minimum Education and qualification required for the Position
Education:Graduate with PG diploma in operations preferred
Working Experience:13 15 years experience in EXIM Operations
Technical & Professional Knowledge:
- Good Knowledge of EXIM Operations involving various stack holders like Port /CFS / ICD /CONCOR etc.
- Having good leadership skills managing team of 2-4 FTEs
- Being part of cross functional project demonstrating teamwork and collaborations for success
- SAP Knowledge of MM and SD Module.
