Responsibilities

Lead data discovery discussions with stakeholders in JAD sessions and map the business requirements to logical and physical data modeling solutions.

Conceptual data modeling create entity level data models from a business perspective for a particular scope

Logical data modeling provide a logical data model for a particular scope with a business perspective

Physical data modeling translate logical data models into physical models for implementation in a specific database technology

Provide technical expertise in support of detailed database designs and design documentation production, including data models and data flow diagrams

Plan and coordinate conversion and migration of existing or legacy databases to support the availability, usability, integrity, and security of data

Perform technical evaluation of existing models for legacy applications and creation of new model in support of reusable and composable integration architecture

Perform data analysis and data modeling for operational and analytical needs.

Develop entity relationships (ER models) for normalized and dimensional models

Capture technical metadata through data modeling tools

Provide technical consulting for application teams for data naming, classification, design, and handling as a part of the first line of defense for data controls in designing systems.

Collaborate with Data Architects for data model management, documentation, and version control.

Conduct data model reviews with other project team members such as Solution Architects, Data Architects, and Integration Engineers

Help develop data catalog capabilities and facilitate data stewardship and data management best practices

Work closely with the data integration, warehousing,BIand other teams to develop appropriate data models

Participate in collaborative working environment using the agile methodology

Requirements

4+ years of data modeling experience supporting enterprise data solutions and integrations and design documentation production

4+ years of experience with Data Modeling in finance, commercial, supply chains, Sales, Customer analytics

3+ years of experience in Data Transformation/ETL tools and technologies, and related concepts such as data catalog

2+ years of experience in Azure Synapse object support

Familiar with Oracle Fusion Cloud ERP

Experience determining security procedures for system databases and central data stores to maintain the viability of and access to data based on organizational needs

Familiar with Data Warehousing, ETL principles,BIsemantic modeling, andBIreport development

Deep knowledge of Kimball and Inmon approaches and the core differences

Experience in data modeling principles/methods including conceptual, logical & physical Data Models

Experience in translating/mapping relational data models into Data Base Schemas

Experience with modeling tools (such as Lucidcharts, Capture technical metadata through data modeling tools)

Knowledge of RDBMS (e.g. SQL Server, DB2) and cloud data platforms (Snowflake, Azure Synpase) with experience in generating DDL

Ability to translate a logical model into a physical model, adding appropriate physical objects needed to create the database e.g. indexes

Experience maintaining a model repository

Ability to synchronize models to ensure that database structures match models

Familiar with metadata ingestion and translation

Effective oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills, communicating in a technical and non-technical manner with business customers

Ability to work effectively with associates at all levels within the organization

Proven ability to handle multiple tasks and projects simultaneously

Analytical skills, problem-solving, and attention to detail

Experience with Tableau or other data visualization tools in addition toBItools such as PowerBIis highly preferred
