The Consumables Shopping Experience (CSX) team is seeking an experienced Software Development Manager to help deliver world class shopping experiences on amazon.com. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work with multiple teams and disciplines across Amazon to create new retail and platform shopping experiences. This includes the end-to-end experience across platforms and devices globally that enable consumers to easily find, purchase, and reorder the essential products they need and use everyday. Doing so will require the invention of many new capabilities and innovative approaches across search and discovery, evaluation and purchase, up-sell and repurchase via a variety of new formats and delivery options. As a Software Development Manager you will work on a variety of strategic projects for the consumables customer experience across baby, beauty, grocery, and health and personal care in a multi-billon dollar category.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

10+ years of relevant engineering experience
5+ years of experience, managing engineers and managers
Experience in partnering with product and program management teams

What we are looking for:
Experience managing software development teams, including managing the complete software development life cycle for large scale products and services, within an Agile/Scrum environment.
7+ years relevant work experience in commercial or web-scale system software development
Experience in web based software including, JavaScript, Java, REST
Experience delivering highly scalable distributed services
Experience working in cloud based environments
Experience with continuous integration and delivery
Commitment to and hands-on experience in performing technical code reviews
Excellent team player and communicator capable of building positive relationships across engineering and product
Strong communication skills and strong business acumen;
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment
Driven to provide the best customer experience

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

BS degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering or related field
Experience delivering software using an agile development process
Experience with leading projects in highly collaborative, multi-disciplinary development teams
Experience with Service Oriented Architecture principals and REST
Experience with NoSQL data stores
Experience building on mobile devices, whether HTML or native (iOS or Android)
Front-end experience is a plus;
