Principal Quality Assurance Engineer, Automation Job in Y Media Labs Pvt Ltd

Core Responsibilities

• Be the thought leader of test strategy & technology, methodology and process, and helpto advice clients on manual QA strategies
• Promote quality across projects andclients
• Be the technical expert (and we really mean an expert) in all forms of manual testing ofweb and mobile apps
• Hold ownership and be ultimately accountable for the quality of one or more projects
• Leadership in test-case development, test-plan reviews and repeatable test procedures forenterprise web and mobile applications
• Be hands-on and getting into the depth of details as required, for all kinds of activities,from writing test cases to actual testing to filing bugs to tracking bugs to working withstakeholders
• Collaborate with different teams to implement quality measurement using various QAmetrics
• Be on top of emerging innovation and technology of testing mobile and web apps and use that knowledge to improve or introduce new tools, technologies, methodologies andprocesses
• Be actively involved in release cycles by contributing to scope planning, test effortestimation and release sign-off
• Mentor and coach QA engineers, and help to build a strong QA team
• Collaborate with multiple stakeholders including client, development and product teams to alignsolutions for test automation, including test plan, tools, framework & approach
• Configure, run and monitor/own any cloud and/or Devops environments related to automation and project
• Raise risks as and when they are spotted within the team, create and implementmitigation plans
• Be a Strong team player who can contribute to overall success of the projects anddeliverables

Experience

• 10+ years of experience in quality assurance engineering roles
• 5+ years ofproven experience in being responsible for quality assurance for complex web and mobile applications
• You must be at a level of technical expert for quality in the organization
• Experience at a senior thought leadership level in quality assurance
• You must havestrong track record of providing technology leadership for enhancing test processes ata department, business unit, entire product or organization level.
• Mature personality and polished verbal, writing and presenting are mandatory. You need to be able to articulate ideas and plans to executive level audience and to clients/customers
• You must not just be familiar with latest and state-of-the-art in testing of web andmobile products, but you must be the sort of person who tinkers with and gets theirhands dirty with the latest QA tools and technologies
• Mobile testing experience is a must-have skill
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, test-planning and team leading skills
• Exposure to unit-testing frameworks, continuous integration tools, selenium or otherautomation tools is preferred
• Strong experience with more than one cloud automation deployment strategies (forexample, Perfecto) is mandatory
• Experience with API testing using tools like Postman is mandatory
• Sound understanding of Software Testing Process, its various stages and roles of thetester during different stages is mandatory
• Experience testing consumer facing and enterprise applications is preferred
• Understanding of CI/CD processes and knowledge on Devops is preferred
• Good understanding of Cloud services like AWS, Azure is an advantage
• 3+ years of experience of working in an agile team that uses Scrum or Kanban ismandatory
• Hands on experience using project management tools like JIRA, QTest for loggingdefects, creating test plans, creating test cases and reports
• Good Analytical, problem solving and interpersonal skills with attention to detail
• Ability to make decisions being the gate keeper for quality of complex product or suiteof products
• Experience working with colleagues in the US is a major advantage
