Position Summary:
Senior Level Data Center Sr. Project Manager is responsible to plan, lead and manage the successful delivery of Data Center Transformation and Consolidation activities. This senior resource needs to be comfortable working in an ambiguous environment, familiar with governing disruptive technologies, managing multiple vendors, contractors and technology disciplines, while communicating to both business and technology resources. This resource is also responsible and accountable for the coordinated management of multiple concurrent Data Center Migration Projects which delivers Virtualization, Application Refreshes, Quality Assurance, and Compliance.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Strong client facing skills and an acute understanding of consulting.
Data center consolidation, virtualization project consolidating multiple global DCs to Single/Dual DC.
Develop and maintain detailed project plans while adhering to Data Center Operations project methodology
Ensure that projects meet timeline and budget requirements.
UNIX -QA web development application refresh projects knowledge
Mobile technologies infrastructure upgrades, server, telecom, test environment, deployments, backup and recovery.
Prepare and effectively communicate appropriate reports and updates to management
Facilitate the resolution of issues and escalate issues to project stakeholders as required
Ensure all appropriate documentation, requirements, design and test specifications and other required deliverables are created and reviewed/approved by external and internal stakeholders
Achieve project milestones through regular cross-functional project meetings to review schedule, status, issues and to ensure conflict resolution and risk mitigation
Manage project scope and document scope changes in order to obtain approval for incremental costs prior to performing work
Requirements Experience and Education:
Responsible and accountable for the coordinated management of multiple concurrent projects directed toward strategic business activities for high availability data center infrastructure based installation, migration, and consolidation projects.
Project Management of Integrations/Consolidation of Legacy Data Centers across regions to Central DC of Customer/Atos.
Strong VMware Migration, Server Migrations (All Flavors), Routers and Switches Migration, Server Migration, Racks / Cabinets, Security Devices.
Be able to construct a migration planning workbook, detailing Excel, Project, Visio and resource details for each individual installation event, as a guideline to follow for migration success.
Manage all aspects of the project implementations including project rollouts, resource tracking, budget management, schedule development, cost/ budget analysis, cross discipline coordination and communications.
Deep understanding of project management methodology (e.g. PMBOK)
Provide consistent and comprehensive status reports, project updates, and ongoing project analyses to stakeholders relating to tracking progress through implementation hardware and software life cycles.
Strong facilitation skills.
Design, Build, and Setup (Data Center Setup/Design, Space Management, ITIL (CMDB, Asset Management)
Certified PMP
Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or Information Technology preferred
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Must have strong communication skills, written and verbal
Experience interviewing end users to gather requirements
Good interpersonal skills and customer handling skills
Good communication skills (both verbal and written
Ability to structure and draft technical documentation
