Finance Chief Data Office (CDO) is anewly formed team to establish the data governance framework acrossFinance. The team partners with the DataStrategy and Digital groups to execute the data disciplines. We support dataconsumers to drive data quality across Finance functions, including accounting,regulatory and financial reporting, CFO teams and corporate treasury. We aim toprovide transparency of our data asset and actively manage the asset tocontribute to the fulfilment of regulatory requirements and creation ofoperational efficiency. The CDO functionplays a critical role in the transformation of the organization by connectingdata, technology, processes and controls
Jobdescription
The Specialist Project Management is one of the core roles in assisting, organizing &reporting on the Finance CDO team scope of work. This staff position isexpected to primarily work with FinanceCDO Data Quality, Governance and Reporting leads along with multiplebusiness stakeholders and senior management across Finance organization.
Key Responsibilities
Manages and oversees the end to endproject management activities such as project planning, scope management,estimation, schedules, tracking progress / issue / risks and related projectartifacts
Develops detailed project plans and schedules with leads acrossspectrum of projects in Finance CDO org e.g. Data Quality, DataMart PlatformRe-architecture, BI Reports development and Operations etc.
Facilitates adoption of appropriate project management toolsand techniques.
Setup and lead scrum calls to Identify, capture and reporton scope, deliverables, milestones and any dependencies to other data relatedinitiatives in Finance e.g. Finance Data as a Service program.
Assist in defining processes to automate and effectivelymonitor data quality and BI reports development issues and facilitatefollow-through with cross-track stakeholders.
Set up JIRA instance to enable tickets management andreporting in conjunction with other Data Quality and governance tools
Facilitate issues remediation with relevant teams (Sources,Technology, Business, Finance, etc.)
Identify areas of process improvement and makerecommendations for long-term solutions
Status reporting to senior management on Finance CDO teamsproject milestones, risks and mitigations
Effective in managing diverse teams and stakeholders
Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.
The staff member will be expected tocultivate relationships with staff or contractors in: Finance, Technology, DataStrategy, Data Operations to ensure efficient identification, collection, anduse of data along with the management of the associated data governanceprocesses.
Qualifications
Bachelors degree or theequivalent combination of education and experience required.
Project management professional qualification preferably PMP, CSM
Work toward orcompletion of MBA, CFA, or CPA/CA preferred.
Skills & Experience
7-10 years of projectmanagement experience required in waterfalland agile environments, preferably in financial industry and data quality ordata governance related projects.
Proficient in projectmanagement tools such as MS Office, MSProject, Visio
Proficient in files andtickets management systems like JIRA,Sharepoint, Confluence
Competency with some data governance tools Collibra, IMT, IDQ
Competency with someleading data profiling tools (such as SQL, BItools Power BI, Alteryx etc.)
Ability to work independently and with distributed teams (i.e.physically located in other regions).
Exposure with finance data sets and process: BalanceSheet, P&L, Consolidations, Client Product Profitability, liquidityanalytics and reporting, interest rate risk management, asset-liabilitymanagement, regulatory reporting, is strongly preferred.
