Whatwe need and what you could do
TheCorporate Treasury Group at BNY Mellon is responsible for managing theinvestment portfolios and the liquidity and capital positions of the varioussubsidiary banks and of the Parent Corporation. The analyst will work in theAsset Liability Management (ALM) team within Corporate Treasury and will beresponsible for the following.
Under close supervision, conducts basic research, data gathering, andanalyses in support of more senior team members tasked with controlling therisks associated with assets, liabilities, liquidity funding, capital and IRRmanagement. Is beginning to build foundational knowledge spanning the range oftreasury, capital and ALM categories across the organization and its variedproducts/services. With guidance, collects financial data and runs basiccalculations used as inputs into various capital management, IRR, liquidity andasset/liability models or analyses.
Reviews calculations for validity and accuracy, reporting onunexpected/undesired results and performing corrections as directed. Escalateswork to more senior team members for quality review. Internationally, analyzesbasic capital, IRR, liquidity and asset liabilities management activities forassigned legal entity(ies). Reviews compliance against regulatory and/ orinternal liquidity metrics and reports on findings to more senior team members.Assists with projects as needed. Assesses alignment to regulatory requirements;researches and documents liquidity self-assignment and liquidity fundingcontingency plans. Provides supporting documentation and analyses formanagement reports/briefings. Reviews work with more senior professionals toimprove own work. Begins to establish relationships with peers in thebusinesses, Risk Management, Finance and Corporate Treasury to ensure efficientcollection of data/model inputs. Learns the foundational regulations governingALM, Capital Management, Liquidity Funding and related Treasury functions.Conducts ad-hoc analyses/reporting as requested. No direct reports. Job scopeis limited to the quality and accuracy of own work. Contributes to theachievement of team goals.
Qualifications:
Degree in math, engineering, statistics, computational finance oreconomics preferred.
Progress towards CFA or FRM certification a plus.
Prior internship or work experience in Financial Services in Risk orQuant area preferred.
Programming skills in R, SAS, Python, VBA and database query language(SQL).
Knowledge of some of the key Fixed income products and concepts such asDuration, Convexity, DV01.
Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills.
