Here are some of the key roles and responsibilities of a social media intern: Strategy Development: The primary responsibility of a social media intern is to develop a social media strategy that aligns with the company s overall marketing and branding goals. This includes identifying target audiences, selecting social media channels, and creating a content plan. Content Creation: Social media interns are responsible for creating engaging and shareable content for social media channels, including images, videos, and written posts. Community Management: Social media interns engage with and respond to followers and comments on social media channels, fostering a positive community and addressing concerns or complaints. Analytics and Reporting: Social media interns analyse metrics on social media, such as engagement rates, follower growth, and conversion rates, and use this data to optimise their social media strategy and report on performance to management. Collaboration: Social media interns work closely with other members of the marketing and creative teams, such as designers and content writers, to ensure that social media content aligns with the company s overall branding and messaging. Paid Social Advertising: Social media interns create and manage paid social media advertising campaigns, select target audiences and ad formats, and monitor and optimise campaign performance. Staying Up to Date: Social media interns must stay up-to-date with social media trends, best practices, and changes to algorithms and policies and adjust their strategy accordingly.
