Our IT Company needs a capable, motivated Desktop Support Engineer to take over all aspects of the configuration and maintenance of our computer systems. Do you love tackling problems head-on? As the only IT staff member on our team, you ll wear lots of hats and gain plenty of valuable experience
What you will be doing:
- Responsible for the maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of computer systems, network servers, and virtualization
- Creating user accounts and performing access control
- Troubleshoot hardware and software errors by running diagnostics, documenting problems and resolutions, prioritizing problems, and assessing the impact of issues
- Provide desktop and helpdesk support efforts, making sure all desktop applications, workstations, and related equipment problems are resolved in a timely manner with limited disruptions
- Troubleshooting networking and connection issues
- Meeting with the user to diagnose software, networking, or hardware issues
- Providing technical support via remote-access systems
- Administrate infrastructure, including databases, malware protection software, and other processes
- Tracking and managing work records
- IT asset inventory management
- Maintain documentation and technical specifications and best practices
What you will bring:
- 2-5 years of experience as Desktop Support Engineer/IT administrator in to IT Industry
- Strong knowledge of systems and networking software, hardware, and networking protocols
- Ability to respond to help desk requests after hours on a limited basis
- Working with internet gateways, firewalls, and routers
- Basic knowledge of operating system such as Linux
Educational Qualification:
- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, System Administration, or a closely related field, or equivalent experience required
Added Bonus If you have:
- Knowledge of Jira Access Management
- Networking certification such as CCNA or other
- Manage the Linux working environment in local machine
