Alumni Impact Intern

About Us
At Teach For India, we build a nationwide movement of leaders who work relentlessly to end educational inequity. Ten years into our journey we have 900 Fellows who grow as leaders while teaching 32,000 low-income children and a growing movement of 3400 Alumni who work at all levels of the education system. We are the largest pipeline of driven, skilled talent into the educational ecosystem. Over the next 3 years, we aim to keep growing this talent pipeline, supporting our Alumni to have even greater impact and innovating constantly to get closer to our vision. Our work will only be done when we have built a movement of leaders large enough to ensure that every child in India attains an excellent education.
We pride ourselves as being a passionate, idealistic, mission-driven team of individuals. Were committed to learning towards excellence in our roles and equally to practicing the values that shape us as people. We are an equal opportunities employer and provide compensation and benefits which are at the top of the NGO sector.
Position Summary
The mission of the Alumni Impact team at Teach For India (TFI) is to accelerate the individual and collective impact of the 3000-strong, and growing, Alumni network towards redefining an excellent education for children across India. We intend to realize this mission through a 4- pronged strategy that will involve:
- Fellow Readiness - Ensuring our Fellows are prepared for taking up roles of their aspiration. This includes working closely with the Fellowship program design and implementation teams, understanding what our Alumni and Alumni employers are looking for, and using the insights from these sources to recommend program design-related changes/reinforcements
- Infusing Talent - Infusing talent (graduating Fellows and current Alumni) into identified areas (e.g. - in and around school systems, organizations, governments at multiple levels) that we believe will deliver the most impact for the education system of the country
- Incubate Alumni - Incubating/Supporting Alumni to enter key roles or launch new organizations within prioritized puzzle pieces, particularly where barriers to entry are high but the potential for impact is large
- Connect and Build Leadership - Fostering online and offline connections among our Alumni with the objectives of nurturing a sense of community & pride, and enabling them to access opportunities for their leadership and growth
The Intern will work closely with the Alumni Impact Manager in the City Operations Team on key projects that fall under the strategy mentioned above.
