R&d Engineer, Staff Job in Synopsys

We are looking for an experienced and innovative software developer for Synopsys ESP equivalence check product. ESP is an industry leader for sequential equivalence checking of custom designs such as embedded memories, standard cells and IOs. We are a small and ambitious team of engineers located in US and Chile and we are setting up an R&D team at Bengaluru (Bangalore). As one of the initial members of our team at this location we are looking for motivated, self-starters and expert software developers with experience in Electronic Design Automation. You will be part of the team developing the pipeline of advanced next generation solutions for the ESP product.

In this role, you will work with the ESP R&D and applications teams to architect solutions and solve complex problems for verification of custom design blocks. You will work with leading edge designs modeled at behavioral or RTL Verilog and SPICE netlist levels and verified with formal equivalence checking algorithms. You will work independently and collaboratively with the team and also take leadership role in projects as needed. You will use professional concepts and company objectives to independently resolve complex issues in creative and effective ways. You will exercise a high level of independent judgment and interpretation in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria to obtain results.

The ESP product provides a differentiated formal technology for equivalence check of designs specified at Verilog (behavioral, gate, RTL) to transistor level SPICE netlists. We continue to push the impact of our technology with capabilities such as symbolic transistor level power integrity verification among others. Our customers rely on our differentiated technology to catch the most elusive corner case design inconsistencies. Skills Required:

• Bachelors in Engineering/Technology (+8 years), Masters/Ph.D. (+5 years) ( in related technical field (EE/CS/Math/Physics).
• Software development experience with C or C++.
• Broad understanding of data structures, algorithms, heuristics, and their application.
• Familiarity with Unix and associated software development tools.
• Experience working on complex software projects, showing good analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Exercise of judgment in developing methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria to meet project goals. Comfortable with learning and applying new technologies.
• Ability to work in both independent and collaborative settings.
• Good written and oral English communication skills, for team collaboration and product presentations.

• Education/work experience in the EDA related industry is highly desired
• Knowledge of transistor, digital design or Verilog is a plus
• Formal verification / BDD and SAT technology / SPICE-level design analysis exposure has an added advantage
