Job Description:

We are seeking a highly motivated Scientist to join our dedicated drug discovery and development center. You will play a key role in generating primary data and curating accurate information for antibody discovery and engineering projects. Applicants with expertise in antibody display technologies, such as phage and yeast, are particularly encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and execute safe yeast and phage display experiments aimed at discovery of tool/therapeutic antibodies for pipeline support.
  • Routinely perform library generation via cloning into phagemid or yeast vectors, cell sorting via flow cytometry, and screening of positive clones through FACS or ELISA, following all safety protocols.
  • Design primers for different cloning strategies (infusion, restriction digestion, SDM, etc.) while adhering to established guidelines.
  • Analyze sequences on sequence analysis applications like Sequencher and Geneious Prime.
  • Develop and troubleshoot assays independently, record, analyze, and communicate scientific data, ensuring the accuracy, reliability, and integrity of the data.
  • Maintain the highest expertise in each protocol for compliance with standard operating procedures (SOPs) and applicable regulations.
  • Present and interpret results in internal meetings.
  • Complete all assigned mandatory trainings related to data integrity, health, and safety measures on time.

Qualifications:

  • M.Sc./M.Tech. in Biotechnology, Microbiology, Cell & Molecular Biology, or a related life sciences discipline.
  • M.Sc. with 6-9 years or M.Tech./M.Pharm. with 3-6 years of relevant experience in antibody discovery and development.
  • Strong background and experience in molecular biology techniques, including primer design, vector preparation, cloning, SDM, etc.
  • Comprehensive hands-on experience in phage and yeast display platforms, including library generation for lead candidate discovery.
  • Demonstrated technical proficiency in bacterial/yeast transformation, flow cytometry, cell sorting, cell-based assays, and ELISA to assess target-analyte interactions.
  • Proficient in performing SDS-PAGE, Western Blot, and DNA/protein quantitation by Nanodrop.
  • Expertise in FlowJo, Geneious Prime, and advanced MS Excel data analysis tools.
  • Ability to perform protein quantitation and affinity measurements by Octet/SPR (preferred).
  • Ability to address challenging technical problems independently and creatively.
  • Must be independent, able to follow established experimental designs, and develop new methods, protocols, and technologies based on existing literature.
