Job Purpose
- To implement and enforce safe work practices throughout the company.
- Process Safety Management at Syngene sites.
Key Responsibilities:
- The role is responsible for hazard Identification, risk assessment, reading piping & instrumentation diagram, process flow and block diagrams,
- Defining basis of safety, safety envelopes, distributed control system operations and some familiarity with it s programming
- Lead team of process safety assessors across Syngene, develop capabilities and competencies among process risk assessors
- Assist plant in leading process hazards analysis and process risk assessment for major risk projects by providing expert support in process hazard analysis /process risk assessment methodologies.
- Develop a surveillance system for process risk assessment controls installed on existing process and future projects
- Participate in pre-startup safety reviews prior to startup of new or modified processes or equipment or after extended shutdown of equipment. Periodically review site pre-startup safety reviews for quality and completeness.
- Perform layer of protection analysis to determine the risk of an accident scenario is not lower than reasonably practicable region
- Lead in process safety event investigations/root cause analysis to provide guidance to all plants. In conjunction with site management teams, track progress of corrective actions where business wide issues are identified.
- Follow environment, health, and safety (EHS) requirementsat all timesin the workplace ensuring individual andlab/plant safety
- Attend training on environment, health, and safety (EHS) measures imparted company.
Educational Qualification: BTech / MTech (Chemical)
Technical/functional Skills:
- Process safety management
- Safe Systems of work (permit to work, risk assessment etc)
- Incident/Accident management
- IT literate, with the ability to use the full Microsoft Office package
Experience: 7-10 Years of relevant experience in EHSS
