JOB DESCRIPTION

JOB PURPOSE / CONTEXT OF THE ROLE

This is an individual contributor role and would be a part of the Customer Analytics team. This position is expected to be part of the Sales Strategy function for the entire network of Entertainment channels for Star TV.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategic / Policy related KRAs

Competition Landscape Tracking

  • Creation and distribution of genre decks showcasing the movement in TV industry metrices like Program GRPs, Ad GRPs, pricing movement to facilitate decision making by National Genre Heads
  • Provide customer analytics insights to Channel Heads and Cluster Heads by providing in-depth analysis of Top clients and provide inputs on increasing depth by analyzing their advertising behaviour.
  • Work along with sales excellence team on facilitating dashboard for tracking competitive metrices like market share, fair share etc.
  • Provide overall market sizing inputs basis the media market reports published by third party bodies like FICCI, KPMG, GroupM etc.

Provision Management

  • Creation and submission of quarterly provisions basis the delivered GRP shortfall to clients and agreed guidelines of provision creation
  • Tracking and updating of bonus spots in line with the provision created during the quarter
  • Facilitate the approval of bonus spots for finance heads to ensure optimization of provision utilization for the channel revenue
  • Submission of provision reversals basis bonus spots/Make Good provided to the clients in the quarter

Revenue targets for cluster of channels / Genre

  • Work closely with revenue heads, cluster heads, channel analytics and PRS to maximise revenue for the channels in line with the planned AOP targets
  • Monthly validation and compiling of channels sales achievement for all the team members
  • Collaborating with channel analytics team to finalise on all financial adjustments (provisions, inter-channel revenue adjustments)

Financial Accountability / Commercial Impact

Expense Budget Management

  • Creation and submission of expense budgets and reforecasts for the ad sales to finance team
  • Work closely with brand solutions team on expenses incurred and tag it to the vendor basis the data provided by the finance team

PERFORMANCE MEASURES

  • Timely and accurate submission of provision and reversal data to finance team as per the SOP guidelines
  • Provide competitive data insights to Channel Heads and Cluster Heads to improve their market share and pricing
  • Identifying and highlighting opportunities post top clients analysis to Sales Team and PRS
  • Ensure accurate cascading of targets and channel achievement

QUALIFICATION

  • Minimum Qualification: MBA (Premier/ Tier 1 management institute) or equivalent
  • With 2-5 years of post-qualification experience

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

  • Strong Quantitative and analytical ability
  • Outstanding MS Excel Skills
  • Preferable - BARC, Media express, BI/BO tools
