Overview:

In this role the Principal Engineer owns and drives end to end Systems engineering activities for various Interior products of Collins aerospace with the primary responsibility for the seating products. This includes but not limited to System requirements definition and management, requirements validation, system architecture design, modeling and simulation analysis, system integration and verification and certification. Work with multi-disciplinary teams and coordinate the technical efforts towards realizing project goals.

Principal Engineer Systems Engineering

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Technical leadership to the multi-disciplinary team involving electrical, mechanical and software engineers
  • Carry out end-to-end systems engineering activities as per ARP 4754 guidelines.
  • Proficiency and minimum of 3 years work experience on ARP 4754 process.
  • System development and V&V planning
  • Capture customer requirements and convert them into system requirements.
  • Validate the system requirements using standard techniques Review, Analysis, Similarity, Test, Modeling and simulation, etc.
  • Experience with requirements management tools like DOORS.
  • Experience with MBD tools like Matlab / Simulink.
  • System architecture definition and flow down of design requirements to HW, SW, Process, etc.
  • Safety analysis of the system architecture and definition of safety requirements as per ARP 4761.
  • Technical risk analysis and management
  • Preparation of system verification cases and procedures
  • System integration and verification
  • System qualification planning and coordination with HW/SW teams
  • Hands on experience on DO-160 and DO-178 standards.
  • System certification planning and support
  • Must be ready for travel abroad on need basis
  • Drive for continuous growth for the self and the associated team members

Basic Qualifications:

  • 10-12 years of relevant industry experience with at least 5 years as a Systems Engineer.
  • B.Tech/M.Tech (Electrical/Electronics)
  • Proficiency systems engineering life cycle processes
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in system requirements management, system verification and validation
  • Strong problem solving and analytical capability.

Preferred Qualifications:

Minimum 9+years Experience in the following

  • Aerospace system development
  • ARP 4754 and familiarity with RTCA DO-178 S/W Certification standards.
  • Matlab/Simulink for model development and scripting.
  • Motor and Motor drive development
  • Seating infotainment control system.
  • Embedded C programming
