Job Description Summary
The PLM Upgrade team at PTC is responsible for the timely upgrade of AWS/Azure hosted Windchill environments to the latest releases as per defined project cycles. We are looking for a Technical Consultant with experience in PLM upgrades to manage the technical execution of these projects. This role requires working during Europe hours to overlap with customer time zones, and during the Production Go-live phase, working on weekends may be necessary (1-2 weekends per quarter).
Key Responsibilities
- PLM Upgrade Execution: Independently manage the end-to-end process of PTC Windchill upgrades, through multiple rehearsals, ensuring that all technical aspects of the upgrade are executed properly.
- Technical Quality Management: Own the technical quality of the upgrade deliverables and ensure that all deliverables meet the highest standards.
- Project Scope & Coordination: Assist the Project Coordinator in environment reviews and preparing the technical project scope.
- Customer Interaction: Serve as the technical point of contact (POC) for the customer team for all collaborations involved in the upgrade project (excluding communications and coordination).
- Problem-Solving: Handle technical issues arising from upgrades, collaborating closely with the Technical Support team and coordinating with the customer for issue resolution.
- Documentation: Create, maintain, and review detailed documentation for each upgrade rehearsal and the overall upgrade process.
- Collaboration with Cloud Infrastructure Teams: Coordinate with cloud infrastructure teams (AWS/Azure) to execute change requests necessary for completing the upgrade.
Required Skills & Experience
- Experience: 2-5 years of experience in the following areas:
- Worked on PTC Windchill upgrade projects or similar PLM software.
- Administration of PTC Windchill or similar PLM software in cloud-hosted environments.
- Managed or worked on runtime operations of PLM environments, preferably with PTC products.
- Must-Have Skills:
- Linux Operations and Administration.
- SQL: Strong knowledge and experience with SQL for database management.
- Experience with Apache and Tomcat web applications.
- PTC Windchill Administration/Runtime/Configuration.
- Familiarity with Single Sign-On (SSO) architecture.
- Familiarity with cloud features, specifically:
- AWS (EC2, Route53, RDS, Load Balancer).
- Azure (Storage Blobs, Application Gateway, CDB & PDB).
- Good-to-Have Skills:
- Experience with CAD worker configurations in PTC Windchill.
- Knowledge of PTC Thingworx Navigate.
