Job Summary

Job Description for Software tester

Position: Software Tester

Primary Skill:

Basic understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) & Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC)

Knowledge of different testing types: Functional, Regression, Integration, Smoke, etc.

Familiarity with bug tracking tools like JIRA or Bugzilla (basic level)

Ability to write simple test cases and test scenarios

Good communication and documentation skills

Analytical and logical thinking

Secondary Skill:

Exposure to automation tools (e.g., Selenium, TestNG)

Knowledge of basic SQL queries for database validation

Understanding of Agile or Scrum methodologies

Basic scripting knowledge (Python, Java, or JavaScript)

Familiarity with test case management tools like TestRail or Zephyr

Qualifications:

B.E. / B.Tech / B.Sc in Computer Science, IT, or related field

Certification in Software Testing (ISTQB, etc.) is a plus but not mandatory

Criteria: Fresher

Roles

you will be responsible for assisting in the execution of test cases, identifying bugs, and ensuring the quality of software products. You will work under the guidance of senior QA professionals and developers to learn and contribute to all phases of testing, including test planning, execution, and documentation.

Key Result Area:

Test Case Execution: Assist in executing test cases under supervision

Bug Reporting: Identify and report bugs accurately and promptly

Learning & Development: Continuously improve testing knowledge and skills

Team collaboration: Support QA and Dev teams during testing phases

Documentation: Maintain basic test records and summaries.

Key Performance Area:

Test Case Accuracy: Quality and correctness of executed test cases.

Bug Reporting Quality: Clarity and completeness of defect reports

Defect Detection Rate: Number of valid bugs found vs. reported.

Learning Curve: Improvement shown in tools, processes and productivity.

Participation in Team Activities: Engagement in sprints meetings, test reviews, etc.

Adherence To Deadlines: Timely completion of assigned tasks
