Engineering Manager - QA

Pepper Content (www.peppercontent.io) is building a global content marketplace that brings companies and content creators together to scale up content creation processes across 75+ content verticals and 150+ content categories. Over the past 4.5 years, over 100,000+ freelance content creators have applied to be part of the Pepper network of which we work with the top 5% talent, and on the other end - we work with over 2500+ customers like Amazon, Adobe, Google, HDFC Bank, Adani, and majority of the startup ecosystem.

We are building a global SaaS-enabled marketplace for fast-growth SMB, mid-market and enterprise customers that helps marketers manage all their activities ranging from content creation to workflow management and content distribution. To fuel all this, we have some exciting plans, and we are looking for someone in the capacity ofEngineering Manager - QA

Responsibilities:

• As an Engineering Manager - QA, you will provide strategic direction to testing and manage the quality assurance team.

• You'll build a team of QA s focused on testing out critical components for our Engineering team.

• Ensure the platform meets or exceeds metrics/SLAs, and also introduce and improve the processes and tools to support rapid test and deployment of new features in the organization.

• Embed QA engineers across appropriate squads whilst ensuring consistency and quality of approach

• Explain the product and business requirements clearly to the entire team and ensure there is no communication gap between product/engineering and QA teams.

• Onboard new team members and provide them product training to get them up to speed.

• Setup processes and tools to maximize QA productivity and product quality

• Define and deliver the QA strategy.

• Get your hands dirty writing code and collaborating with team at ground level whenever required.

• Ensure testing covers functional, performance, security, etc. to required standards.

• Proactively seek to improve the speed, reliability, and coverage of testing.

• Manage the environments and data needed for comprehensive testing.

• Identify the modules which can be automated and maintain balance in test coverage and new feature releases.

• Collaborate with different teams on a daily basis, work across different squads and understand their requirements.

• Communicate effectively with customers.

• Have in-depth knowledge of product and ability to present/answer any questions.

Requirements:

• Strong technical skills and tools knowledge - APIs, DB, security, debugging, performance & load testing

• Significant commercial experience in developing and executing a QA strategy that encompasses functional and non-functional testing

• Management and leadership of teams of QA engineers, supporting day to day and career development

• Experience in identifying and selecting tools, standards, and best practices

• Significant experience of agile concepts and ideally DevOps principles and practices

• Strong decision-making skills and a strong influencer, able to challenge the status quo

• An excellent communicator, able to articulate complex concepts to technical and non-technical people
