Pega Academy Systems team is a distributed team with members located across the US as well as in the Pega Hyderabad office. We are responsible for developing and maintaining Mission Control (back end system powering Pega Academy achievements) and Exercise System Manager (ESM) which manages exercises systems and automatically grades Academy exercises. We are part of Pega Community and Developer Programs encompassing Pega Academy and Pega Community.

What You'll Do at Pega:Youll be a QA Automation Engineer in the Academy Systems team. Youll enhance the Automation coverage across Academy backend systems by creating and maintaining test scripts using Pega Automated Unit Test Tool. Youll work on expanding the coverage of automation across Pega Academy products Mission Control and Exercise System Manager as well as load testing to ensure scalability of existing systems. Youll work collaboratively with Academy engineers to create test scenarios, run new tests as well as regression tests, and report various issues/bugs discovered. Additionally, working with other QA engineers youll make process improvements in QA and suggest any framework changes to support higher QA.

- Test Automation using different testing methodologies.
- Automates simple to medium complex test cases and debug the automation failures with no supervision.
- Follows best practices and good test design principle for effective test automation.
- Ability to understand simple to complex user stories, design effective tests cases and execute different types of test (localization, UI functional etc.) and uncover defects early. Maintain quality artifacts and relates them with quality standards.
- Defines system integration test cases to attain near to 100% functional coverage with minimal supervision.
- Defines regression test cases with minimal supervision and good coverage
- Manages defects with steps to reproduce, environment details, test case details and test data. Should be able to validate the defects by effectively understanding the root cause analysis. Maintains defect to test mapping, traceability.
- Contributes in grooming sessions and gains clarity on story and plans on the test needs and effort.
- Shares thoughts openly in team meeting and other forums; should possess good listening and verbal communication skills.Modularize the application tests and review the quality outputs by working with leads and plans the release strategy to attain incremental quality.
- BE or Masters degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering.
- 6-8 years Working Experience with Pega Automation Unit test tool preferred. Experience in automating tests for web applications.
- Working knowledge on Java.
- Good knowledge on SQL databases, queries.
- Knowledge in any of the source control management tool.
- Pega System Architect Certification, Pega Senior System Architect Certification preferred.
