The Technology Optimization Data Analyst will join the technology team to contribute to Pearsons operational objectives of improving data quality in the configuration management database (CMDB).? You will be responsible for the maintenance of accurate technology information at Pearson, onboarding application and configuration information into the CMDB solution, harmonization of business rules and processes, remediation of data issues, and the establishment of policies and processes in conjunction with the business stewards at Pearson. The information contained in the CMDB is vital to the decision making processes of decommissioning legacy applications, reducing data center spend, as well as providing security teams with information to target end of life and vulnerable systems.
As a Data Analyst, you will work closely with the application owners and IT teams to ensure ongoing accuracy of CMDB data, as well as providing performance metrics, detective controls and leading continuous improvement at Pearson.

Strong written and verbal communication skills, and stakeholder awareness
Proven expert on MS Excel with an ability to turn around complex reports quickly
Proven ability to design visually-appealing reports and dashboards in challenging timelines
Ability to mentor a Graduate Analyst to scale up and gradually divide work over the course of the year
Knowledge of organization structures, stakeholder awareness, PMO functions, and stakeholder management
Ability to multi-task in a dynamic environment, with a can-do attitude
OPTIONAL: Knowledge of ServiceNow will be a plus, though they will receive training
OPTIONAL: Knowledge of Education and/or Publishing domains will be a plus, though they will receive training upon joining
Core Responsibilities:
Take proactive ownership for creating complex reports and professional dashboards from a large dataset of IT Applications and Infrastructure
Analyse IT Application and Infrastructure data from ServiceNow to identify gaps and areas for improvement
Design and implement strategies to resolve identified gaps
Additional Responsibilities:
- As part of a dynamic team with expanding scope, where they will be expected to investigate newly emerging issues and drive solutions, in consultation with the programme management team
