Job Summary Job Title : Team Leader - Highways Role/Position : Team LeaderDivision/Function : Design & Engineering Reporting to : Head Design & EngineeringPurpose of the Job To lead team of highway / pavement designers to support all the ongoing and upcoming projects for highways to carry out highway / pavement designing activities with focus on Road safety, quality & safety standards. Duties/Responsibilities/Activities Leading team of Highway designers: - Analysis and preparation of design documents and construction sequence- Review of designs, standards, procedures for all construction activities performed at Site- Coordinate with clients for obtaining approvals on design & calculations. Preparation of BOQ- Preparation of construction methodology for projects - Ensuring that designs/drawings sent to Site contain safe, economical formwork & staging arrangement as per Site requirement. - Implementation of Quality and Safety standards in designs/drawings- Coordinate with consultants for designs/drawings as per client specificationsPre Bid design support to BD: Providing timely and accurate inputs of tender quantities to Estimation team Value Engineering: - Target optimization of time and cost baselines through optimal opportunities of Value Engineering leveragedSupport to Execution team during construction phase: - Support execution teams with constructability reviews and state of the art engineering support- Conducting technical appraisals for typical projects and sharing crucial inputs on associated design risks and queriesEstimation and Cost effectiveness:- Provide workable cost information for the company & prospective clients by accurately estimating the works to be performed- Commercial accountability through accurate scoping and quoting of workTalent Management & Development: Internal / external Designer / Advisor:- Development of in-house design team for internal projects.- Supporting Head design in appointment of consultants, review of the design provided by the consultant- Scheduling of work for critical works and resource planning- Impart technical trainings for the team members- Development of a database of design partnersQualification & Experience: Educational Qualifications M.Tech Civil / Structures Years of experience 15+ Yrs experienceFunctional Competencies1. Quantity optimization & Value engineering2. Conceptualizing designs & creation of drawings for implementation3. Knowledge of construction activities/processes & its application4. Cost consciousness5. Knowledge of different / alternative construction Materials6. Aesthetics Should have worked on an Iconic project during the entire career graph Behavioral Competencies1. Strategic partnership2.
