Role Overview

We re seeking a Senior Software Engineer with strong technical expertise and leadership skills to architect and build the next generation of backend systems. You will design scalable microservices, develop cloud-based products, and collaborate across teams to deliver reliable, secure, and high-performance solutions that handle millions of transactions.

What You ll Do

• Design, implement, and maintain scalable microservices primarily using Python.
• Develop cloud-native software products following industry best practices.
• Build systems and tools to support new Ocrolus products and evolving business requirements at scale.
• Collaborate with teams on security, reliability, automation, and performance optimization.
• Support testing efforts, troubleshoot production issues, and implement solutions.
• Lead and own projects end-to-end, influencing architectural decisions and technology choices.

What You ll Bring

• Bachelor s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Expertise in Python with hands-on experience building complex backend systems.
• Strong database knowledge including Postgres, MySQL, and data modeling skills.
• Experience with web frameworks such as Flask, Spring, or related ecosystems.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and communication skills.
• Proven ability to provide architectural leadership and best practices for backend systems.
• Experience leading projects through full development lifecycles.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies and automated testing frameworks.
• Knowledge of containerization (Docker), microservices architecture, continuous integration, AWS cloud services, and deployment pipelines.
