Job Summary

What you will do

  • Run small to mid-sized projects with minimal oversight from the Head of Engineering as a player-coach i.e. manager

  • Own complete features with a balance of quality, timelines and delivery of the projects

  • Lead by example on setting high engineering standards for your team, and elevate quality across Obvious

  • Balance quality, timelines and delivery of the projects

  • Set a vision that others are excited to get behind
  • Directly contribute to core interface design and writing code
  • Teach and mentor engineers to become next generation leaders
  • Advise leadership on technical considerations related to the success of Obvious Engineering
  • Ensure pragmatism and perfection from your team and yourself

What you will need

  • Familiarity in working cross-functionally at all levels
  • 5+ years of experience in Android application development, especially building different products or contributing to open-source libraries
  • A strong technical background with experience in building and designing Android applications
  • Nice to have: Previous experience as a team lead or manager
