Web properties team within GCS is looking for building talented team of individuals with expertise in Web Development using cutting edge technologies. Team is responsible for building high performance application stack to meet business requirements. Web Properties manages the company primary Website, Nasdaq.com, as well as other corporate websites including the company intranet, working closely with the Marketing and Branding organization.

Your role and responsibilities:

As a Senior Software Developer Specialist, your focus will be designing, developing and implementing features and improvements to the product. You are primarily responsible to combine the art of design with the art of programming.

• Responsible for designing and implementing new features and functionality, translation of the UI/UX design wireframes to actual code that will produce visual elements of the application. You will work with the UX designer and bridge the gap between graphical design and technical implementation, taking an active role on both sides and defining how the application looks as well as how it works.
• Develop new user-facing features. Build reusable code and libraries for future use. Ensure the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs
• Optimize application for maximum speed and scalability
• Collaborate with other team members and stakeholders

We expect you to have:

• 10+ years of experience in developing web solutions using front end technologies. Proficient understanding of web markup, including HTML5, CSS3.
• Understanding of server-side CSS pre-processing platforms, such as LESS and SASS
• Proficient understanding of client-side scripting and JavaScript frameworks, including jQuery
• Should have the knowledge of advanced JavaScript libraries and frameworks, such as ReactJS/ AngularJS.
• Good understanding of asynchronous request handling, partial page updates, and AJAX
• Proficient understanding of cross-browser compatibility issues and ways to work around them.
• Knowledge on node & npm
• Experience in Unit Testing (JTest & Jest)
• Experience using SCM tools like Git and having exposure to Continuous Integration and Deployment.
• Understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle (e.g. Requirements, Design, Development, Testing) and exposure to Agile or iterative SDLCs.

It would be great if you:

• Basic knowledge of image authoring tools, to be able to crop, resize, or perform small adjustments on an image. Familiarity with tools such as Gimp or Photoshop is a plus.
• Knowledge of CMS, Drupal theme layer (twig)
• Good understanding of SEO principles and ensuring that the application will adhere to them.
• Good understanding of PWA/AMP programming concepts.
