Expert Systems Engineer
(SolarWinds System Monitoring)
Location Pune
Shift rotational
Purpose of Role
Operate as a focal point for planning, onboarding, implementation, and enabling monitoring of customer environments. Drive system performance monitoring, server monitoring, network monitoring including adding and remove monitoring devices. Administer, support and drive operations around SolarWinds. Utilize skills with ITIL and monitoring events for quicker resolutions on MI s and work on operational activities such as Incidents & Requests and eventually grow more into multi-customer monitoring programs.
Job Description
Responsibilities:
This resource is expected to deliver the day-to-day configuration management services to the organization with minimal direction, focusing work on prioritized tasks. Their specific responsibilities include:
Extensive background in monitoring tools of various platforms including sending of events to an event management system.
Experience in identification and remediation of risks of monitoring tool implementations and ability to communicate best practices to internal and external stakeholders.
Experience in advanced knowledge of the SolarWinds IT Management Software suite required.
Should have extensive expertise in implementation\project plan designing\High Level and Low-Level Design Documentation.
Knowledge of SNMP Monitoring, Internet Service Monitoring required.
Knowledge of ASPX and other development standards available to build SolarWinds GUI content required.
Tools operation and optimization & understanding of different SolarWinds modules like NPM, NTA, NCM and SAM
Development experience in a Unix/Linux environment with advanced knowledge of OO Perl highly desirable.
Database development knowledge and SQL experience (primarily PostgreSQL but some MS SQL and Oracle) required.
Responsible for further developing and enhancing the use of SolarWinds which includes WAN/LAN monitoring, reporting, and alerting.
Able to Create Dashboards
Knowledge on Creating new template for Monitoring.
Previous experience in implementation and migration of customer monitoring solutions
Hands on experience in Adding /removing device monitoring, muting alerts via Scripts.
This person will need to have core competencies in the administration, support, and operation of the SolarWinds platform with all Networking Concepts and including Network Performance Monitor, Network Configuration Manager, NetFlow Traffic Analyzer, Server and Application Manager, IP Address Manager, and other modules
Responsibilities for SolarWinds Administrator include, but are not limited to SCOM etc.
Experience in the administration, support, and operation of the SolarWinds platform including Network Performance Monitor, Network Configuration Manager, NetFlow Traffic Analyzer, IP Address Manager, and other modules
Experience with tuning SolarWinds to decrease noise and increase actionable alerts
Experience with creating automation scripts using SolarWinds and other tools to execute changes across multiple network devices in a safe manner Extensive experience in using SwSQL or T-SQL to create advanced alerts and reports
Knowledge in the use of network management protocols (e.g., SNMP, SNMP Traps, Syslog, ICMP, NetFlow, etc.)
Integration experience with ServiceNow and other network automation tools.
Strong understanding of Windows Event Logs.
Basic understanding of scripting and ability to write basic scripts and different types of databases and ability with running queries.
Operational experience with utilization of monitoring tools and good understanding/ working experience with tracing health of agents/ collectors and support.
Good understanding on windows servers, different types of services, clustering etc.
Mandatory skills around analytics, system issue troubleshooting, ability with understanding error logs, investigate issue to get system up and running with maintaining maximum system up-time.
Experience in Linux/Windows/Network administration and operations desirable.
Understand the integration of CRM tools with other platforms to automate the ticket generation process and further route to the correct team/ queue.
