Job Summary
The Inpatient Billing Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the inpatient billing process, ensuring compliance with billing policies, tariffs, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). This role involves training staff, monitoring billing performance, and coordinating with other departments to optimize billing practices. Key Responsibilities: Billing Compliance: Ensure strict adherence to billing policies, tariffs, and SOPs. Regularly review interim bills of admitted patients to identify and correct errors. Ensure compliance with IRDA guidelines for Non-payables in TPA cases. Staff Training: Train new IP Billing staff on billing procedures, policies, and systems. Provide ongoing training and development opportunities for billing staff. Billing Efficiency: Help maintain Billing & Discharge TAT by ensuring timely and accurate bill preparation. Identify areas for improvement in billing processes and implement changes to enhance efficiency. SOP Development: Contribute to the creation and maintenance of SOPs for IP Billing. Help improve the hospital's Information System (HIS) for IP Billing purposes. Interdepartmental Coordination: Coordinate with marketing, IPS, IT, and Pricing Cell to ensure smooth billing practices. Liaise with other departments to resolve billing issues and improve processes. Patient Documentation: Verify PSU and Corporate patient documentation and validate AL before crediting the bill. Billing Operations: Update OT sheets and process bills during night hours. Lead by example in providing excellent customer service and handling patient inquiries proactively. Compliance and Safety: Ensure familiarity with all instructional manuals and operating procedures. Participate in the hospital's Disaster Management Program (DMP). Promote safe utilization of equipment and proper waste disposal. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration or a related field Experience in healthcare billing, preferably in a hospital setting Strong knowledge of billing regulations and compliance requirements Excellent organizational and analytical skills Ability to lead and motivate a team Strong communication and interpersonal skills Additional Skills (Preferred): Experience with hospital information systems (HIS) Knowledge of coding and reimbursement methodologies Job Type: Full-time
