We have an exciting opportunity to join our Group Treasury team who are responsible for a range of processes related to the Balance Sheet Management (BSM) team's activities as well as some ad-hoc projects and analysis. The team's activities include analysing the impact of interest rates and FX on the group s capital position and produce hedging recommendations to reduce the risk. It includes elements of the Group's capital projections processes.
You will liaise with the group regulatory team and develop a deeper understanding of Group Regulatory Reporting (GRR) capital concepts. You will also partner with the wider team on key projects and process improvement initiatives and also document the processes with a view to retain knowledge and ensure continuity.
The goal in establishing an offshore BSM team is to build knowledge of Macquarie's BSM policies and processes in order to enable more time-critical and ad-hoc analytical support to be migrated to the Gurgaon team. The ability to contribute to high-quality analysis, under stringent timelines and on an ad-hoc basis is an important factor in the success of the global Group Treasury team.
In this role, you will be responsible for taking on elements of the group's capital management processes including capital hedging and capital projections, as well as other analysis and processes related to the group's capital strategy. You will be responsible for regular reporting to stakeholders in Sydney BSM team and AVP in Global Financial Services (GFS), Gurgaon. You will ensure knowledge is shared with resources via cross training and team learning. You will develop a detailed knowledge of the concepts and processes underlying the team's work. You will be responsible for developing relationships with key members of Group Treasury, Group Regulatory Reporting and other business unit teams.
To be successful in this role, you will have a strong customer service ethic and the ability to work in a virtual global team. You will have an outstanding academic background in a financial or quantitative degree e.g. actuarial, economics, engineering, mathematics or accounting with 4-8 years relevant experience. Experience in balance sheet management or treasury will be an advantage, in particular any experience related to capital reporting, projections, regulatory capital frameworks. You will have sound knowledge of the financial/banking services industry, products & shared services operating models. You will have a high degree of comfort in dealing with information technology and very strong MS Office Skills.
