Position: Accounts Payable Team Lead

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a team of accounts payable assistants.
  • Review aged creditors reports weekly.
  • Oversee weekly payment runs and escalate issues to the accounts payable manager when necessary.
  • Ensure timely payment runs by the accounts payable assistants and resolve any issues.
  • Amend, reverse, and repost incorrectly posted documents.
  • Sign off on IPCs after thorough checks and processing by the team.
  • Resolve urgent queries and manage supplier reconciliations.
  • Handle urgent payments outside normal processes.
  • Ensure all transactions have valid documentation.
  • Monitor PO and invoice holds reports, resolving queries as needed.
  • Ensure CIS returns align with ledger entries and sign off for submission.
  • Process invoices before month-end close, generating necessary trial balance and sub-ledger reports for finance managers.
  • Sign off on bank payments.
  • Support accounts payable senior and assistant managers.
  • Drive improvements in payment processes to enhance reporting metrics.
  • Assist and educate the wider business during ongoing changes.
  • Manage team performance, providing coaching and development.
  • Seek opportunities for continuous improvement in workflows.
  • Build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor s degree in a related field.
  • Experience leading similar projects.
