Job Summary

Kisan Network is a Y Combinator, Mistletoe and Thiel Foundation backed tech enabled supply chain for Indian agriculture. We enable small and marginal farmers across the country to sell their produce directly to businesses, using their smartphone. No middlemen are involved in the entire process as Kisan Network takes care of everything else, from the farm to the buyers doorstep.


There are more than 100 million cultivators in India whom we need to serve and we have an ambitious vision for an open and free online agricultural market in the country, that clocks in at around $200 Billion.


Our investors, which includes Y Combinator and Thiel Foundation, agree with us. We are the first and only (till date) from an Asia focused startup to be a part of both Y Combinator and the Thiel Fellowship program. Kisan Network has been also covered by the likes of Forbes, TechCrunch, National Geographic, Entrepreneur India, CNET, The Economic Times and numerous other national and local dailies.


We have a team comprising of both 20 years of experience in technological applications for rural distribution in India and also, prior startup experience in the technology product space.

Description

  • You'll be a part of the core sales team with clear cut focus on generating revenue for the companys farmers.

  • You need to attract new business / institutional clients to purchase on the Kisan Network platform.

  • You will look after client retention by ensuring customers ongoing expectations are met.

  • You will execute promotional plans and work towards achieving targets.

  • You will be responsible for managing day to day sales activities, including market and outlets survey, cold calls, sales promotion, managing labor, transport and transshipment.

  • You will support the service team by providing customer feedback

  • You will play a major role in debt collection.

What Were Looking For

  • Alignment with the small close-knit team at KN. This is with respect to vision, work culture and other similar aspects

  • Flexibility in the work being done. You need to be self motivated and would need to adapt and learn quickly

  • Possession of a 2-wheeler (with valid license) and an Android smartphone

  • Knowledge of local language with good communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills

  • Prior sales experience is preferred, especially in the field of rural marketing

  • Also preferred: B.Sc or M.Sc in Agri / MBA in Agribusiness
