Institutionl Shareholder Services is hiring for Manager - Data Operations - Governance for Mumbai location.

Overview:

Institutional Shareholder Services Inc. ISS solutions include: objective governance research and recommendations; RI data, analytics, and research; end-toend proxy voting and distribution solutions; turnkey securities class-action claims management; and reliable global governance data and modeling tools.

Responsibilities:

People Management

  • Recruitment, coach, mentor, and develop a team of analysts to profile data for a given content pillar and market

  • Undertake performance reviews to ensure that each team member works towards clearly defined team goals.

Operational Management

  • Plan manpower capacity and scheduling to ensure SLA and goals are met / exceeded

  • Manage workflow queues to ensure timely delivery of data profiles in accordance with established production schedules

  • Enforce quality assurance and controls to ensure accuracy levels meet / exceed targets

Process/Methodology Custodianship

  • Collaborate with Data colleagues across locations to:
  • Develop and maintain methodology and procedures manuals for data collection;

  • Enforce compliance of staff with established data collection and quality procedures;

  • Analyze performance metrics (timeliness, efficiency, quality, controls) and implement opportunities for continuous improvement;

  • Research, recommend, and implement technology and content opportunities to improve product quality and operational efficiencies.

Product Support

  • Collaborate with other teams across functions (i.e., Research, ICS, Product, Development, QBIT) in support of planned product enhancements and extensions

  • Respond to queries from internal and external clients.

Qualifications:

  • At least a Bachelor s degree in Finance, Economics, Geology, or similar field of study. A post-graduate degree is a plus.

  • A minimum of 5-8 years relevant working experience in a high-quality and hard deadline-driven environment, with at least 2-3 years leading a small team.

  • Knowledge of corporate governance and/or financial markets is an advantage.

  • Good judgment in assessing available information and understanding the downstream effects of data decisions on final product outputs.

  • Effectiveness in working with cross-functional teams.

  • Takes pride in developing people.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with clear attention to detail.

  • Highly motivated, independent, results-oriented, and possesses a strong sense of ownership.

  • Must be willing to work on a flexible shift schedule.
