Experience and Qualifications

• BSc Software Engineering or Computer Science Degree is a must from a recognised university

• Building responsive, adaptive single page applications

• Solid awareness of cross-browser/device and cross platform development

• Experience and awareness of security concepts and building internet security solutions. The experience should be based on technologies including Forgerock, Zuul, and Transmit if possible.

• Knowledge of implementation considerations for UI technologies including React, Java 8, Spring Boot, Maven, Websphere, JavaScript

• Test automation development utilising - Mockito, JUnit, or others

• Experience consuming REST APIs and utilising JSON for web or mobile applications

• Experience in development and utilization of more junior team members, being responsible for the career development and performance of team members

• Experience of API and service based architectures using REST APIs, micro-services and utilising JSON for web or mobile applications

• CI/CD - tools such as Confluence, Jira, Jenkins, Git, GitHub, SonarQube, CheckMarx

• DevOps processes and experience.

• Strong understanding of lean and agile methods of software delivery and the principles and practices of BDD, ATDD and TDD

• Agile methodologies Scrum, Kanban

• Have strong experience delivering to AAA accessibility standards and usability principles

HSBC Private Banking is embracing the cloud, Agile and DevOps practices into our way of working, we are seeking to infuse additional digital talent into the team and this role is a crucial enabler to successful execution of our digital strategy.

The Digital team is at the core of HSBC Private Bank transformation, working globally with the heads of digital engineering, delivery, solution designers and product owners to provide technology strategies and customer focused solutions across digital channels

We have our amazingly talented and dedicated software development teams working in London, Pune, and Guangzhou. We are looking for an experienced digital engineer to provide technical leadership for our development of the Security services platform.

Our work includes developing security for new mobile apps and online experiences; using digital capabilities to build the relationship with our clients; building and improving the underlying technology and security platforms; and innovating our propositions to take advantage of new innovation. We work across a range of digital technology platforms and development disciplines, from backend to mobile technologies.

We are looking for an Engineer to help us build and run Private Banks digital services, helping us move away from the monolithic architectures of the past to a new micro-services platform. You will be responsible for delivering products into production in ever shortening cycles and helping to drive the continuous improvement of our processes, tooling and engineering practices.

In this role you will be responsible for;

• Leading a team of Engineers, define and set standards for modern development practises and ensure quality standards are maintained.

• Manage directly or indirectly a team of Developers and Software Engineers, including select, build and develop the team by recruiting and training

• Troubleshooting technical issues independently to maintain the digital assets supporting the security solution for the digital channel.

• Communicating delivery schedules with the stakeholders and escalating timely whenever risk is found

• Be responsible for translating detailed designs into robust, scalable and reusable solutions that deliver exceptional user experience driven by the product teams

• Demonstrate a deep, hands on knowledge of TDD and BDD techniques

• Familiar with a couple of different languages, and expert in JAVA development and technologies

• Proactive collaboration in the project team to help develop the product using your experience to help guide the team through the whole development lifecycle

• Ensuring governance requirements are captured, and audit requirements met. Demonstrating adherence to controls

• Refactoring and continuous improvements of the code and processes is vital

• Ensuring that technical decisions and information is communicated through the security teams

• Keen to collaborate with others, and youll give thought about how software fits into the bigger picture

• Be able to demonstrate you can work with a distributed team

• Experienced in Continuous Delivery practices and how they affect product quality and delivery

• Experienced with a range of agile practices and understand how and why they work
