Position Overview

The Quality Assurance Analysts role is to provide quality assurance oversight and support business solutions that deliver a high quality customer experience. This individual will be responsible for writing test plans and scripts for tracking defects and fixes in product development, software application development, information systems, and operations systems. The QA Analyst will apply proven analytical and problem-solving skills to help validate IT processes through careful testing in order to maximize the benefit of business investments in IT initiatives. Performs at the highest technical level of all phases of software lifecycle activities. Works at direction of manager to monitor and report data or software quality issues within the products supported by the team.

Essential Job Functions

Software Analysis

• Collaborates with stakeholders to verify business requirements.
• Manages the quality testing processes to assure optimal application development goals are achieved.
• Assists project manager in support of software development life cycle compliance.
• Works with software engineering team to improve their skills and optimize the software development life cycle.
• Provides estimates and task planning as needed to support business cases.

Software Development and Support

• Responsible for monitoring quality assurance of software applications.

Software Troubleshooting

• Interfaces with IT, vendors and professional services providers to ensure quality is met in all stages of software development.

Responsibilities

• Develop and establish quality assurance measures and testing standards for new applications, products, and/or enhancements to existing applications throughout their development/product lifecycles.
• Adhere to established QA standards for software development, application integration, and information system performance, and corresponding documentation.
• Create and execute test plans and scripts that will determine optimal application performance according to specifications.
• Ensure that testing activities allow applications to meet business requirements and systems goals, fulfill end-user requirements, and identify existing or potential issues.
• Collaborate with software/systems personnel in application testing, such as system, unit, regression, load, and acceptance testing methods.
• Make recommendations for improvement of applications to programmers and software developers or engineers.
• Communicate test progress, test results, and other relevant information to manager.
• Coordinates on QA and UAT process within the team
• Reviews architecture and technical specifications for conflicts or issues that could affect quality
• Performs acceptance testing and manages user testing when needed
• Travel to meet teammates, partners, business owners, and users when required
• Shall understand and abide by the organizations information security policy and protect the confidentiality, integrity and availability of all information assets.
• Shall report incidents related to security of information to concerned authorities.

Requirements

• 5+ years expert knowledge of: Data Quality management and Software Development Life Cycle processes.
• Excellent experience with quality assurance management.
• Knowledge of strong SQL is a must.
• Great communication & collaboration skills.
• Experience with software development lifecycle methodologies, deliverables, controls.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Monitoring and problem resolution of production incidents.

Other Skills/Abilities

• Experience helpful with development technologies such as .NET framework.
• Strong analytical, trouble shooting/problem solving, and time management skills.
• Ability to self-direct, prioritize, and manage multiple tasks and demands.
• Healthcare background and automation experience are big pluses.
• Experience with Agile methodologies is preferred.
