Production Support Engineer Iii Job in Groupon

Key Responsibilities

• You will support and help Voucher Inventory Services(VIS) in the Groupon microservice ecosystem

• Understand Touch points with other systems which VIS is integrating with

• You will collaborate with teams in other organization to ensure that required business features have high availability and uptime

• Work with the Core Engineering teams so that our platforms are up and running 247

• Improve service stability by identifying critical service specific metrics, setting meaningful alerting thresholds, and automating alerting responses

• Take responsibility in conducting frequent load tests in collaboration with other teams

• Create and maintain documentation for your projects

• Mentor junior staff

• Drive the discussion and decisions of technical topics related to the team

Basic Qualifications

o 6+ years experience in software development

o Extensive experience with the upkeep of large scale, highly distributed mission critical services

o Proficiency in one major object oriented programming language (Java, C++, Ruby, etc)

o Experience and thorough understanding of relational databases such as Postgres and/or MySQL

o Proven track record on delivering results and worked on delighting customers(internal and external) with high quality support

o Ability to work well in a team environment and be able to effectively drive cross-team solutions that have complex dependencies and requirements.

o Excellent verbal and written communication skills

o BS or MS in computer science or equivalent experience from Premier Institute

Preferred Qualifications

o Experience in Java, Spring, Tomcat
